Before I get too far along, I'd like to point out that there's something funky with the computer I am working on, and it has these odd one-pixel-wide aqua-colored vertical lines appearing over white spaces, and so it looks like my computer screen is made up of a sideways piece of notebook paper. XD I keep expecting to see a pink horizontal line and some holes if I scroll down far enough.

Also, I just thought to myself the other day that Orlando wasn't going to stay with Kate Bosworth forever, and that eventually I would be getting this story in my email...I just wasn't expecting it to be so soon! Meep! Maybe I am a little psychic. So long as I only have premonitions of good stuff like this, I don't mind so much!

And now for the long-awaited glamor shots! All pics are click-to-enlarge. ^_^

the GREEN series:

(note the Elven Brooch, the hat, and the fact that I am winking in the second one, not dealing with my eye swelling shut, lol)

the PURPLE series:

(that last one is me hiding behind a copy of The Stepford Wives that has a cover which is an extreme closeup of a face. In the next-to-last one, Nico was all, "Pretend like you've just been made President of the United States!" Maybe that's why I look like Condoleeza Rice--I don't like that one particularly, but it gets good reactions so I included it. Whatever. Nico took a lot of this series without warning, saying stuff to make me laugh and then snapping. He said it was the most versatile outfit.)

the SWEATER series:

(the first one is my favorite pic of all these and will soon be my default image on myspace. The last one is Nico in my sweater, and I'm not quite sure that I'll ever forgive him for looking better in it than I do!)

the CHERRY pic:

(If you don't get it, I'm not explaining it.)

the SK8R series:

(get a load of that fauxhawk! I think I like the last one best. And I so borrowed the shades, and they gave me a headache like tinted lenses always do, but they look cool.)

the URBAN series:

(we had to run into town for fresh camera batteries, and ended up doing shots in town, and got this series and the following one.)

the LAURIEN series:

(That last one is just to show that despite his obvious photo-taking genius, even Nico makes mistakes. I've titled that one "Ten Points for Nico!" XD Yay me for thinking to give her a bath.)

the GREY BOOTS series:

(the pose from that last one was actually taken from a random poster on Nico's wall and was really hard to hold, but it came out so well!)

The house in the first two of the urban series is in Mountain Home. We thought about taking pictures in the cemetary across the street from it, but the only suitable monument we found (a white marble angel) had a cocoon hanging from its nose and something was trying to get out of it, and I wouldn't let Nico kill it or help it out. (Fellow Lost fans will get why I had qualms about messing with a cocoon, right?) So he pointed out the awesome house across the street, and I was oohing and ahhing, and we realized that the owner was mowing the lawn, so we went and asked if we could take pictures on his courtyard. Not only did he say yes, but he came over and turned on the fountains in the yard and was very accomodating. By sheer luck I was still wearing the red shirt and it all worked out incredibly well.

ETA: I forgot to mention that the original house was designed by a student of Frank Lloyd Wright's, which is just plain COOL.

So I got this today in my email. Okay, Orli's next movie will be with his RL girl, kind of irritating but not surprising...and then, I see the last line.

OKLAHOMA AND NEW MEXICO.

Dude, Oklahoma is a day's drive away! Not even! And I have FAMILY in Oklahoma!

ROAD TRIP, ANYONE??? How does one find out where movie sets are? And get to the gate to get an autograph and a picture??? OMG OMG OMG YAYSQUEE!

(For more substantial info, keep checking here.)

I replaced my old, falling-apart baby-name-book (I keep it around to help me name story characters) with a new one a while back, but never really got to dig through the new one until Alicia asked for name help. In digging around for her, I found out some interesting stuff...

Aubrey, Luella, Alfreda, and Alvina are all archaic names that have a meaning something like "elf friend" or "elf counselor." Mayhap Tolkien was onto something, if that worked its way into our language.

Sayid means HAPPY. Oh, the IRONY.

In the same bent, in Korean, "Sun" means "obedient." (Oooh...plot bunny! OMG!)

Michele probably already knows this, but Michele means "Who is like the Lord?" and "Renee" means "born again"...so the question answers itself. (Ooooh...that felt deep.)

Rena is a Hebrew name that means "song; joy." ^_^ I like that!

Last but not least...Orlando (come on, admit it, now you're curious) means (again, the irony)...get this..."famous throughout the land." XDDDDD And to top that off, Orli means "my light."

*has died just cracking up at the inherent irony*

It's Orlando Bloom's 29th birthday, as well as Friday the 13th! XD

There's a joke there somewhere. I just can't think of it.

Mwahaha.

I went to Wal*Mart last night, and though I hadn't been planning on getting them, I realized that Kingdom of Heaven and Robots were out and decided to buy them both.

Both of them came with "fullscreen promos": If you bought fullscreen instead of widescreen, you got a freebie--a nice extra for no extra charge. (For KoH it was a really nice book, and for Robots it was the full soundtrack! This is not the first time Wal*Mart's pulled that--they did it with Troy, too, gave away a shirt with ONLY the fullscreen.)

(And I have to wonder--if fullscreen is THAT hard to sell, why bother? But whatever.)

Dilemma--I refuse to have fullscreen if I have a choice in the matter.

Solution--I bought the fullscreen with promo, took them home, opened the package but left the DVDs themselves in their wrappers. Went back earlier today to customer service with the two DVDs still in their packages, told them I had meant to get widescreen (completely true!) and wanted to exchange them.

Exchanged them both, no questions asked.

WHOMP! There it is. I rock.

Shelly, hon, I walked by the campus bookstore and for no apparent reason they have an Elizabethtown poster hanging up.

I TOTALLY went in to find out if I could have it when they were done with it.

"It's already spoken for."

Why am I not surprised? O_O Orli is hot property...

I don't know if she has internet up there or not, but I would just like to shout out to Kade ([livejournal.com profile] high_volzage). You made it, girl! You're in COLLEGE! I can't even begin to tell you how incredibly proud of you and happy I am!

CONGRATS!

Also, Shelly's back in school, and I just have to share this pic she sent of the view from her room (click to see full size, obviously):

Did I call this one in my last entry or WHAT? I rock. Or suck, if you're Shelly. ^_-

I updated my friends in that I changed the colors for your names, so if you look at my flist, the colors your name is displayed in under your avvy should match your journal. I think I got everyone (except the stuff like LJ news and whatnot, which I'm leaving plain).

I just figured out how to turn on shuffle mode in Windows Media Player! Go me! (I'm better at RealPlayer, since that what Shelly uses on her computer.)

I'm skipping off to DLBE for now, until I have to go to psychology.

I love spelling that word.

Your French Name Is

Adélaïde Belle-isle

Today was the first day of school. More later. I have to go change for work in about five.

I should have more time after this, but I had to run around and meet with people and such. Plus run my car over to Rodney AGAIN. I finally told him to just SHOW me how to change the stupid fuse myself and went and bought ten of them at Wal*Mart. (My cigarette lighter, which I use to run my CD player, keeps blowing this fuse and he can't figure out why.)

Sigh. Hobbity posted confirmation of Lijah's girlfriend, and I read a blurb from Evie about how happy Dom makes her, I'm sure Kate and Orli are going ot be in the news again sooner or later...*sigh* Days like this take the fun out of being a fangirl.

Oh well. New classes. New guys to flirt with. My lab partner recognized my Elven Brooch!!!

But like I said...more later. I get off at ten and since I have no chapter to work on I'll likely type an entry at home tonight.

See my music there? THANKS, MERIAGRIN! That's the song from which Dom got the quote for his tattoo! Does it--yes, I'm looking at the lyrics--it says "Nothing to get hungabout." Is that a British thing? Still, I'm hearing that and cracking up a bit at the irony there. Hung. Charlie. Hung. Lol...

Found out Kat has a cellphone and text messaging. Lol. That's going to get interesting. (Wait, there comes another one...)

Grandma--they think that maybe back when she had temporal arteritis (inflammation of the arteries, I think), that it may have caused nerve damage and that's what's making her almost constantly nautious. They're testing that today.

Talked to Tim's cousin, she didnt have much info for me, but she's on my side, said she'd keep her eyes open and help how she could without letting him know what she was doing. ^_-

OH! Guess what! (I shouldn't be happy about this, technically, but I am!) ORLANDO BLOOM BROKE UP WITH KATE BOSWORTH! He's FREE! That rocks. (And would you believe he's only #3 on my list?)

See, it's true!

Anyway. Yeah. That's about all.
