ELEVEN DAYS OMG HOW AM I GOING TO LIVE?

rena_librarian: (Default)

The only real tragedy here is that Chris (Kurt? Are they supposed to be in character?) didn't get a solo. SO CLOSE AND YET SO FAR. But hopefully this means that Kurt's got a shot at doing pre-80's Bowie as some point this season because clearly the issue is not getting the rights to his music. =)

UNF DARREN. *repeat forever*

This is a silly pop song. A silly 80's (early 90's? not sure) pop song all about sex and not much else.

WOW holy huge YouTube frame, not sure how to change that, so have a cut. )

But, left to his own devices, HE STILL MAKES IT SOUND ROMANTIC.

(Anyone seen the Family Guy cutaway where Peter's on ecstasy and is rubbing Stewie's head going "It's so soft,  HOW ARE YOU DOING THAT? HOW YOU--HOW YOU DOING THAT?" Yeah that's pretty much my thought process at this point. Minus the ecstasy.)

^^^LOLOLOLOLOLOL^^^

I have the first four. Saw the fifth in theaters and not again since. Haven't seen 6, 7, or 8 at all. (Please tell me the Neverending Camping Trip of DOOOOOM is a bit less tedious in the movie than the book? Because...good book, but it took a while to slog through.)

It's a shame, really--if I'd gone to the theaters, I could've seen myself going in cosplay. And Harry Potter's never even been one of my mega fandoms, you know?

Though of course nowadays when I hear the name, I think of Darren singing "I'm Harry freakin' Potter!"

Also I need to reread the series back-to-back, because I never have--I read the first five, then had to wait a while for six to come out in paperback, then had to wait for seven to come out at all. I waited to buy the paperback but I borrowed a copy just a few days after it came out.

I'm just going to leave this here.

Why am I not watching Wilfred? I should be watching Wilfred.

Day 23: Favourite Klaine video.

Because there's no bad way to mix Klaine and Disney. Really.

Day 24: Random quote that describes Klaine.

Why did I draw a blank? WHY?? Ah well, it's random, not favorite, so no shame in a bit of google-fu here...here we go. =D

True love is when you put someone on a pedestal, and they fall - but you are there to catch them.  ~Author Unknown
Because of the whole "Dude, this is pretty much Blaine and the Pips..." after Kurt had idolized him for so long, and then BAM! Blaine realizes he's in love and Kurt still wants him, lol.

You know when you have found your prince because you not only have a smile on your face but in your heart as well.  ~Author Unknown
Because...I didn't put that much thought into until the season was over and I read it in an article somewhere, but before spying on Dalton, Kurt was getting dangerously close to becoming a gay teen suicide statistic. (Not that he isn't strong, but I think it was either Rachel or Mercedes that commented that he was so stressed from Karofsky's bullying that he was starting to lose weight, and not in a good way--even the strongest people have limits.) And then Blaine was there to bring him hope when he needed it most. He may've been texting "Courage," but that wasn't all that Kurt got from it. (And now I feel like writing a fanfic, because, dammit, feelings.)

I'm toying with the idea of rearranging my room. (By which I mean my office.)

I was watching makeup tutorials on YouTube, which always makes me want to MAKE makeup tutorials, and I was kind of thinking about how the last time I tried that, it was really annoying because my desk faces the window, therefore the entire room is in the background, and therefore I would have to clean my room every time I wanted to make one.

(My sanity requires that I have one room that I don't worry about keeping immaculate.)

The best vloggers all seem to have their back to a wall in their vids. Makes sense.

But then it's like...do I really want to fuss with that when I intend to move ASAP? I just went through and re-stacked the clutter in here to take up less space and decided not to actually go through it and organize, pending moving. Maybe I need to focus not on rearranging stuff that's mostly working but, if I get in a cleaning/organizing sort of mood, on getting rid of smaller clutter--like the stack of stuff on my scanner that I intended to scan but have been too lazy to fuss with. That kind of thing.

I'm also considering giving all my scrapbooking stuff to Alicia, because I've gotten to a place where I'd rather put the pictures online and get comments than to go to all that trouble for the pics to sit up on a shelf in a book. She, on the other hand, has four kids that she's making scrapbooks for and still loves it. So there's that. I don't think I'm ever going to take it up again--even if I was independently wealthy and all my time was my own, there are just so many other things I'd rather spend my time and money on.

Yeah okay that's it, I'm spending the rest of my organizing. More or less. Until the Glee Project. I'm setting an alarm for myself so I don't forget this time!

Also. I was debating between Fayetteville and St. Louis, but now I've pretty much made my mind up. I kept thinking about Fayetteville, and the truth is even though it'd be a lot of fun, I don't think I'd ever consider it permanent, it would just be a stepping stone on my way to bigger and better things. St. Louis, on the other hand, could very easily be permanent. (I won't rule out the possibility of ending up in Chicago or New York or maybe even England, but that's kind of like a win-the-lottery dream that I don't think I'd ever actively pursue.)

I want to be in a (geographical) place I'm happy being. If I run into the issue again of falling in love with someone who refuses to EVER MOVE AWAY EVER then I need to be in a place where I'm okay with that.

The person I'm being in the wake of Cody having left me is so, so different than the person I thought I'd be if--or later, when--he did. I honestly figured I'd be a Bella Swan, kind of wake up one day and realize I hadn't done anything in like four months. But I've been more creative than I have in a long time, and self-confident (though that's also largely stemming from weight loss, not gonna lie), and truly I am--or at least am aspiring to be--more of a Pink than anything.

The attitude, moreso than the actual behavior, lol. Cody already told me anything I did to his car he'd do to mine in return. =P

Day 5: A song that describes their relationship.

Well, there's a few easy outs *coughteenagedreamcough* and maybe this is one, but Falling In Love at a Coffee Shop by Landon Pigg works well, I think.

In fact, I know there was at least one fanvid of them to this song. =) In fact, have a bonus video, since it looks like tomorrow's answer won't have one. =)

Day 4: Favourite Klaine duet.

This one is easy! I knew the answer the second I saw the previous two questions. Before I moved my music library to my external hard drive the other day and (inadvertantly) reset all my iTunes playcounts, this was the #1 most played song. It's just so sweet and adorable and they both sound amazing:

Not to mention, their flirty chemistry and dancing had me convinced the song was going to end with a kiss, and I ended up writing this because of it. =)

I've convinced myself it isn't strictly a Christmas song. I skip over most of the rest of the Glee Christmas album when it pops up on shuffle, but never this one. =)

(Not to mention Animal was a huge disappointment. Not musically, but story-wise: the opening lines are "Here we are again, I kinda wanna be more than friends..." And Kurt and Blaine are duet-ing...and yet they are not singing it to each other RYAN MURPHY YOU ARE A DAMN COCKTEASE.)

Day 3: Favourite Blaine solo.

(Yeah, this meme works like that a lot, favorite Kurt ___ one day then favorite Blaine ___ the next day.)

This is kind of hard to answer because technically, he's never had a solo on the show. He always has backup. So I'm ruling out anything that's Warblers but also has Kurt featuring as a lead singer (Animal and Candles), and also Blaine's song from prom (I'm Not Gonna Teach Your Boyfriend How To Dance With You, longest title EVERRRR) since Brittany and Tina were what I'm calling featured backup, and choosing from the Warblers repertoire.

It's gotta be Raise Your Glass.

I love anything that lets Blaine (er, Darren, er...BLARREN CRISSDERSON) be hyper and energetic; and again, this song is so positive about being who you are and celebrating it with the other freaks and just totally owning it. LOVE IT.

There's a parking lot that I pass on my way to work, with a sign: ALL PARKING SPACES RESERVED. And I wonder to myself why the entire lot is so shy. They look like perfectly respectable parking spaces to me. (I know, I know, but it amuses me. I won't be going into standup anytime soon, lol.)

Also, the other day, I had to call someone from work, and got their voicemail (happens a lot, I could recite the message we have to give in my sleep). One person said "You've reached -phone number.-" Then two or three people chorused together: "SPEEEEEEEEAK!" Random Rent reference made my day! =D

So I have Klaine rolling around in my head a lot (I'm on the Klaine Train, I've been Klainewashed, I am a Klaineiac...love this fandom, no lie), and I ran across another reference to "Kurt loves scarves, I love Kurt" (a fandom thing, which stemmed from the canon line "Well, Blaine loves football...I love scarves"), and this old Sesame Street song popped into my head:

And now I kind of want Kurt and Blaine to sing it. For the lulz. (Not as a competition piece, but just, as a weekly assignment song or as a goofing around thing.) I am torn as to which of them should take which part, though--at first I was thinking Kurt for Bert, because lol the name and also Kurt is the more uptight of the two...but...BLAINE'S TRIANGLE EYEBROWS. IT'S THE PERFECT OPPORTUNITY TO MOCK THEM MORE. BECAUSE WE LOVE THEM.

Sesame Street's owners, though, seem...unlikely to let that shit fly, I would think. At least in canon. (Fanvid, anyone?)

OMG GLEE

Chris Colfer (Kurt from Glee) asks a a fish's opinion of the show...and seems genuinely disappointed in the fish's answer.

I just feel the need to point out that I know this guy. Used to work with him, friends on Facebook, etc etc. Was quite surprised to see him pop up in my Google Reader!

So, by now I'm sure you've all heard about this:

When I heard about it, I got excited, thinking that with all the fuss about it, it must be pretty witty. But I just watched it and was disappointed. Then again, I was already comparing it to this (not for those easily offended by language):

The same concept, done the best. But heck, I'd even take this over "The General":

Teletubbies fail.

XD Go watch it. It's like 23 seconds long, srsly.

Obama Drastically Scales Back Goals For America After Visiting Denny's

A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and OH, it's so true.
rena_librarian: (Default)

It's so true. (And I mean this South Park episode--when you click play it'll open a new tab with ads, but the ep is there if you close the new tab.)

Your Issue Profile: 40% Obama, 60% McCain

When it gets down to it, you tend to best match John McCain.

But he's not the perfect candidate for you, and you may not be sold on him yet.

Obama shares a good number of your views too, so you might want to give him a second look.

It all comes down to which issues matter to you the most.

Not only am I not sold on McCain, I don't think EITHER of them has any business running our country, and as such I will be either voting for some unknown that's never gonna win but agrees with me, or wasting my vote in a more entertaining way by writing in someone ridiculous but as qualified (IMHO) as either of them--like, say, Paris Hilton.

Or, you know, I might vote for McCain and then lobby to have him assassinated or removed from office or SOMETHING so that his running mate becomes president. Her name is Sarah, she must be cool. (And that aside, everything I've heard about her so far seems good.)

Either way, I have absolutely no intention of making a decision--or, in fact, doing any research toward that decision--until November first. Watching political news gives me a headache, literally.

I wish I could just, you know, not vote and not feel guilty about it, because truly, I DON'T CARE. This country is the best country in the world, and it's going to hell in a handbasket--just like it was when it was founded, and how it probably will be for the rest of our lifetimes, barring major zombie invasion. This is me, Scrabble and all:

(I so just coded the above image and made it clickable, without the assist of the rich-text editor. ZOMG. I love being me.)
