ETA: Dunno what's with the huge space, but I fear to mess with the HTML. That being said, here's a gem from Overheard in New York:

All the Nerd-Boys in Earshot Had a Simultaneous Moment in Their Pants
Cute nerd-girl playing scrabble #1: Did you see that episode where Data made a daughter? It was so good, and so sad!
Cute nerd-girl playing scrabble #2: Yeah, it was.
Cute nerd #1: And do you remember the episode when the little boy idolized data...
Cute nerd #2 interrupting: I remember all the episodes.
Cute nerd #1: But there was this one scene...
Cute nerd #2: I remember that scene.
Cute nerd #1: But I didn't finish...
Cute nerd #2: I remember all the scenes. Seriously. There was one time when my friend was flipping channels, and she flipped to Star Trek. And I only saw like, a quarter of a second of it, with Dr Crusher bending over a patient, and I said, "'his blood is turning to some kind of liquid polymer.'" and then Dr Crusher said, "His blood is turning to some kind of liquid polymer!" It's like when some people hear like 3 seconds of a song and can identify it. I can do that with Star Trek.

Kristy dragged me outside for a minute today. The cell phone reception was sucky today, and by that I mean there were a few long stretches where all of us on Cingular (yeah, yeah, the new AT&T, whatever...what's the point of coming up with a name as clever/catchy/pleasant-sounding as Cingular only to ditch it in the merger??) had zero bars. She was trying to text Stuart so we went outside. We ended up discovering that it was the network, not being inside (which makes sense as she texts from her desk all day, usually), but I'm getting off topic. The point is I spent about five to seven minutes outside, not in transit from a door to a vehicle.

HELL.

The sun was shining, there was pretty much no breeze...I think officially it was in the 70's but it felt hellishly hot. I felt itchy and sweaty and ICKY. Ewwwww. I think I hate heat more than I hate being wet. (Wet I can tolerate in small doses, in the right conditions. Like in the shower, or in the rain if I have something to protect my hair.)

I. HATE. HEAT. *dies* (It's not a coincidence that hate anagrams to heat, IMHO.)

So I'm officially retreating to the indoors--if you want me outside, you'll have to wait until the sun is down, and even then it's iffy. After dark TODAY it wasn't so bad, but unless it starts raining torrentially it's going to be so bad, soon.

On to more pleasant topics--went and did laundry at Kristy's, and Stuart fired up their little charcoal grill and made AWESOME CHEEZBURGERS. ^_^ And they were sooooo good (even if the charcoal did go out and they had to finish cooking in the oven). OMG. I don't think I've had a charcoal-cooked burger in years. I'm thinking of getting myself a charcoal grill...

Then when I got home I stopped and grabbed the mail, and the internet and electric statements were waiting for me. I was thinking to myself how Dad always used to say he never got anything in the mail but bills and how I never believed him until I moved out...and then when I finally sat down and opened them, I got a pleasant surprise. For whatever reason, my electric is FREE! Possibly not just this month, either, but for the next month or two as well. I THINK this is my initial $180 deposit (from when I moved in) being returned to me for being such an awesome customer who always pays her bill on time (with the exception of the very first payment, which got lost in the mail and caused me to decide to pay it in person from then on). Not certain, will call tomorrow. Considering my bill is ALWAYS between $55 and $65 (yes, even though I keep my place @ 68 degrees year-round, yay levelized billing), that's a free ride for three months! ^_^ I'm going to call tomorrow and get this confirmed, and switch to the billing where it's the EXACT same every month, now that I have over a year's worth of records for them to work with. ^_^ YAY YAY YAY.

Going to bed now. Have a good night!

It STILL hurts to laugh.

Still going to the Firehouse, but I'm probably going to do zero dancing. Bring on cute boys bearing drinks!!

Kristy went to Little Rock yesterday and brought me back an awesome Hello Kitty bracelet. I am loved.
rena_librarian: (Default)
Mr. Hello Kitty Hell is on vacation, and rather than let his blog go on hiatus, he's done the awesomest thing ever: he's letting his BIGGEST HATER make posts while he's gone! That's just--genius. The funniest thing ever. I think Darlene will get to prove once and for all that "her comments make his blog popular." XD (Of course, it's adding fuel to the fire of the rumor that Darlene isn't actually real; it's him--or his wife--posting, but either way, it's HILARIOUS.)

I learned a new skill last night! Kristy taught me to eat with chopsticks! Without stabbing! Granted, I need practice, but hey, I'll keep up with it. Yay for Japanophilia.

So I haven't blogged in a few days; haven't really felt like it.

Short version: after our date on Wednesday, Sam broke up with me. To my face he said he didn't want to deal with the drama of a relationship and wasn't ready and blah blah blah--to Kristy, when asking for advice on how to go about it, he said that he wasn't attracted to me.

Well. Whether that's the truth or an excuse for his own shortcomings *coughpersonallyIthinkhe'schickenshitcough* I don't care--if he couldn't say so before going along with things, then, well, he's not mature enough to handle me. (Kristy went so far as to say women in general. *snerk*)

Kristy was deploying that night so I came up here to work to be consoled (Kristy is an awesome friend who gives awesome hugs) and she listened to me whine about it, and I was pretty much okay the next day. We took a two-hour lunch, though--went to El Charro's, went to Wal*Mart where we found Nico the black (fake) leather beanbags he's been wanting since he moved into his place, and took them to him at work, then got ice coffee/ice cream at McD's. ^_^ I had the hours to get away with it. Good day.

It took me about two days to figure out the life lesson, but I did find it: as much as I may have resigned myself to the fact that I'll probably never date a guy that I find completely hot (like, Elijah hot), there are in fact guys out there who will never do better than me. And yes, I do find this comforting, and no, I'm not sure whether that makes me confident or conceited. I care not. Somehow I came out of it feeling better about myself, so I don't want to overanalyze it. Anymore.

Though it feels like a bad omen; my first real relationship being capable of measurement in hours. (91, to be exact.) Which makes me wonder: should I even count it, or am I still capable of saying I've never really had a boyfriend?

The part that's comforting: from Brandon to Sam--six weeks. I remember when more than six months would pass before I'd come anywhere near having a new possibility.

While I was hanging out at Nico's yesterday, Sam delivered a pizza. I don't think he saw me, but I certainly saw him and his newly-pink hair. FTW? Neither one of us made any effort to say hi. Nico was all "Go say hi," and I was all "Pfft, no." He said he wanted to stay friends but frankly I don't want that kind of shallow in my life. I already have plenty of friends who are actually awesome, and not just surface awesome.

Moving along. Saw Shutter, it was good--though I thought it was about to end like three times before it actually did. The actual ending surprised me! Ask if you want details; I'll give them in comments.

On Saturday, Kristy, Abi, and I went to Springfield to go salsa dancing! We went to the mall and an Asian market (twice!). I bought a sake set  (sake to follow on payday...hope I like it!) and a bento box at the Asian market, and some green tea pocky (I couldn't taste the difference from regular pocky, but it's prettier), and a single-serving bottle of Calpico "non-carbonated soft drink." It was milk-based, and sweet, with Hello Kitty on the bottle! ^_^ Kristy bought Ramune drink, which comes in glass bottles but they don't have caps, they're sealed with a marble, and it comes with a plastic plunger and you have to pop the marble out. It falls into the bottle and shakes around. It's awesome, and tastes DEEEEELISH. ^_^ I put the bottle with all the other ones at the top of my kitchen.

Also found out that the Chinese restaurants in Mountain Home shop there. XD

Also, at the mall, at Hot Topic, I found the CHARLIE SHOES. Checkered. ^_^ I HAVE AWESOME SHOES. They're a brand name, which makes me feel kinda selloutish, but dude...it's CHARLIE SHOES. And it's a brand name that they had at Hot Topic, so yeah.

There's a Mexican guy who's on an eye level with my nipples that thinks I'm beautiful and he's in love with me. He's also very very drunk, but whatever. X3 I kind of thought that might happen at some point during our salsa evening (which kind of sucked in that they didn't play a single salsa song--we found out later that they've changed DJs, and it ended up being Firehouse sort of music for half the night), but the first guy to ask me to dance? -_-* Oh well. Lol. One of the guys was like "Come dance!" and I told him that we came to dance salsa, and they hadn't played any salsa, and what WAS this stuff? And he's like, "Is Walk It Out!" XD (Which I knew, but still. Lol.)

At least Abi met a decent guy. ^_^ I'm keeping my fingers crossed for her!

So last Wednesday at Lions (before the breakup, if you care about chronology), one of the older members caused some drama. Hard to explain, but he did it while Shelly Hill (reporting for the board, which is separate from the main club) was up in front of everyone, and he hardly let her get a word in edgewise. It was really embarrassing for everyone else in the room and he was wrong to boot. Afterward there was the social committee meeting (Shelly and I are both on it) and after that she kind of tried to explain what was going on, that his issue was old and had little to do with what he chose to throw a fit about, etc, etc. I went out of my way to stop her before she left and tell her that I thought he was way out of line. Some emails went around and Dad saw fit to copy this one to me:

I explained that it is the board they are upset with, and I happened to be there right then.  I think they even all have plans to attend the board meeting if at all possible to show their support.  Sarah was especially sweet…she waited until everyone was gone and expressed how she thought I did a good job.  What a very special girl you and Theresa have raised!  Congratulations on raising such a caring and compassionate young woman!

Shelly

^_^ And Dad had this to say at the beginning of it: Sarah - I thought you should see this.  Of course I’m always proud of you.

Aww. I feel loved. I really admire Shelly (even if she didn't hire me, lol--if I'd gotten the bank job last year she would have been my boss)--she's a woman who's really accomplished so much, she's very respected in the local business world and works so hard for the Lions--so I'm very flattered. ^_^

Torrent downloading = best. Technology. EVER!

So, in summation: Sam's a loser and it's very much his loss, Springfield is awesomer than I remembered from when we went there when I was a kid, I'm going to the Lions board meeting tomorrow, and I love my bento box.

ouch! lol

Kristy: I just read that thing you sent me. (in reference to something I'd pasted in the chat window like half an hour before)
Me: Dude, that was like...
Kristy: Forever ago, yeah, I know. I was, you know, working.
Me: Work? What is this you speak of...?
Kristy: MY job consists of more than just leaving voicemails.
William: Oooh, ouch.
Me: Meh, it's true.
Kristy: Hey, she's way meaner to me than I am to her. She deserves everything she gets.
Me: Well, you're an easy target, at seven foot three.

So.

Wednesday. I told Sam to call me this time, and I decided to just stay at work until he called. I think the words "after 4:30" were in this conversation somewhere.

Kristy stayed with me, thank God.

5 o'clock rolls around and I start to worry, but figure he's got something going on, whatever. 5:30 gets me edgy, and Kristy's having to tell me to breathe. She asks if she should text him and I was all "Yeah. NO NOT FOR REAL WTF ARE YOU--" But too late, she had already sent it.

(pasting from her journal)
Sarah says: -_- what you say?
Kristy says: it be okay sarah, "what are you up too?"
Kristy says: completely non informative.
Sarah says: oh okay
Kristy says: what you think i say?
Sarah says: I dunno, “call Sarah!”
Kristy says: "dude call sarah before she hyperventilates!!!"
Sarah says: or the less pushy but still desperate-looking “Sarah’s really looking forward to seeing you tonight”
Sarah says:lol yeah
Kristy says: hahah "i'm tired of hearing your name will you CALL HER ALREADY!!!!"
Sarah says: or that too

So it starts getting closer to 6 and I'm still spazzing, and finally I ask "What if he NEVER calls?" Then she goes, "Then you can come to church with me!" Lol. I told her I objected on the grounds that that's what my dad had suggested (earlier in the day, after Lions, when I told him I had a third date).

FINALLY her phone goes off (I can hear it) and of course it's Sam texting her back; he admits he's been asleep. She asks if he has plans and when the response comes...

Sarah says: TELLLLLL MEEEEEEE
Kristy says: "was going to call sarah and see if she wanted to hang out"
Sarah says: was?? WAS?? (yay, he hath spelt my name right)
Kristy says: lol, i texted back "you two should come to church with me"
Kristy says: (insert little laughing demon emote here)
Sarah says: because “ooh, good idea” wasn’t good enough? lol

Well, Sam was all "WTF?" but then when he found out that I was (probably) going he agreed. We went to church.

That was just...weird, lol. Not in a bad way. Reminded me of summer camp.

Then we went to McDonald's, and then to the Royal for karaoke. (Canceling out the church? XD Lol.) Hung out with Jacqui, played a really poor (on my part) game of pool w/Sam. Kristy took me and Sam back to his car and then I dropped him off (it's not a long drive to his place; he's in town as well). We chatted for a while, waiting for my windows to unfog (irony?) before we took off.

Then he had to work. Thursday, Friday, and tonight. It took forrrrrevvvvverrrrrr. -_-* Last night I went to Kristy's house and helped her reorganize her kitchen (after staying late enough to get like 3.5 hours of OVERTIME YAY), then today I went over and we dyed Easter eggs. I stayed for D&D (actually tonight was Vampire: the Dark Ages, but whatever), and I actually played. We ordered pizza and had Sam deliver, lol. He said he'd call me when he got off work and he ended up calling, like, 20 minutes later. He came on over while we finished the campaign (I feel like I sound smart, I probably sound like an idiot). Afterward Kristy said she was heading to bed--it felt kind of like she was saying "Okay, you crazy kids, go on and have a good time." Haha.

We DID. He came over and we played Grand Theft Auto (and by we played I mean he played and I failed), and finally he tried to pass me the controller and I was just, "Dude...it's so hard that it's actually more fun to watch you play than it is to play. But you can keep going..." *weird pause* "...or we could watch a movie." "Let's watch a movie."

He let me dig through his DVD/game case while he looked at my DVDs. He said that he'd seen pretty much everything I had, and his case is full of stuff that I've been wanting to see. Yay for movie compatibility! Lol. We finally picked Stranger Than Fiction (which was amazing!!).

And, I dunno. While we were sitting there, in the semidarkness (I killed the lamp, to get rid of the glare on the screen, wink wink--the light in the kitchen was on though), I really just...wanted to lay my head on his shoulder. And finally I shifted positions, but had no intention of actually laying my head on his shoulder, but then I just DID and it felt so normal and right and comfy, and I just stayed there, through the movie. :) At one point I asked if he was comfortable--"I'm not poking you with my elbow or anything, am I?"--and he said no, it was fine.

After the movie we didn't really move, and we just started talking, and kept talking. About five minutes afterward I pointed out that it was 4 AM. And we kept talking. And finally, after he'd said something funny, I put my chin on his shoulder and I said, "Sam? ...I really like you."

"I noticed."

There was a long silence, and I couldn't bring myself to say something mean, like "way to leave me hanging" so I finally just asked, "And you?"

And then he said, "I really like you too," and paused long enough to freak me out, and then said, "This is hard to say..." and paused.

"Oh, am I about to hear the Just Friends speech?"

He looked at me, a little scared, and said no. Then he went on to say that we'd seen a lot of each other and gotten to know each other, and he'd kept to himself for a long time, and there aren't a lot of girls who are smart like me (OMG!) and that he wanted to keep seeing me.

"That works for me. That definitely works." Then, "So..." (oh, tread carefully, Sarah) "Does that mean we're boyfriend and girlfriend?"

"Yeah, I guess so."

And I let out a tiny little squee and wrapped my arm around him. We talked a little, he said he needed me to give him time and I said I was fine with going slow because I'd never really had a boyfriend, and he said he'd never really had a girlfriend (I knew it!). He also said nothing lasts forever, he learned it from his parents--they're divorced--and I told him that we could cross that bridge when we come to it. ('Cause, really...I don't know if he's The One. Maybe not. We're just getting started and I'm not worried about that at this point.) Finally I was like, "I should let you leave, huh?" It was getting close to 4:30.

But we're seeing each other again tomorrow, after doing whatever with our families for Easter.

I walked with him to the door and he told me to have a good day. I told him it was guaranteed now. :) Then he was like, "Uh, well..." and he leaned in and kissed my cheek! :D (And no, he didn't try anything more, which is fine with me. For now.)

The euphoria's ebbing, or at least the need for sleep is finally overcoming it. Good morning night, all!

Tuesday--Lunch with Dad at El Charro's. Helped him pick out agreed with his choice of conference table for his new office, which he's getting because he has a new boss who (rightly) thinks his current office (given by the previous boss, who made him move out of his nice one) sucks. Kristy's party. Awesome, pics to come when I feel less lazy. Jungle juice=OH. EM. GEE. Met Sam, didn't really get to talk to him but drove him home. (Short version on Sam: Kristy and I made a McD's run and we bumped into him, said hi, left. I bugged Kristy, all, "who was that??" and she agreed to invite him so I could meet him. Yay!) Claims to be extremely proficient with Rubik's Cube, have yet to see that. Definitely proficient on Rock Band/Guitar Hero guitar.

Wednesday--Lions, per new usual. I'm on the Social Committee (capitals mine). Vaguely disappointed at first (I didn't get to pick, I was involuntarily volunteered and I was kind of hoping to become, like, a copy editor or writer for the newsletter or some such) but then I realized that this means that not only do I put up crepe paper for the banquet but I might get to influence the color. Lol.

Thursday--Left work early (yay!), picked up Nico, drove back roads (yay Google Maps) to Springfield, met up w/Shelly, Dani, and Kia and had dinner @ Fazoli's. Got to see Shelly's ring in person, got to catch up. ^_^ Went to Hammons Hall for RENT. Words cannot describe how much better it is live. (Raunchier for sure, lol, funnier, sort of, and sweeter in spots--particularly seeing Angel and Collins get together. It's not really in the Broadway recording and it's just kind of taken for granted in the movie, but in the play it's acted out.

Angel: "Baby, I've been hearing violins all night."
Collins: "Is it anything to do with me? Are we a thing?"
Angel: "Baby, we're everything."
And thus ensues I'll Cover You.)

During intermission, a gay man (wearing an awesome hat and a pink shirt) walked up and asked if I had a Chocolate Kitty (I assume he meant Chococat) purse, and I told him no, just regular Hello Kitty. He pulls out his wallet, it's a pink Hello Kitty wallet with hot pink sequins. "I lived in Japan for three years. Old habits are hard to break." I squeed. "Lucky!" ^_^ Also, the woman who tore our tickets said that my shoes were cute, and Shelly liked my top. It was a happy night of compliments.

Afterwards, Shelly and Kia had to get back because they had class/work in the morning, but Dani was up for ice cream so she went with Nico and me to Steak & Shake. It was the really old one, that I remember as looking really old when I was there as a kid, lol. I totally didn't think it had any inside space, because we always only ever went to the drive-up window, lol.

Friday--MY BIRTHDAY!! Katchan woke me up, calling to wish me happy birthday. ^_^ Called Mom and moved lunch from the Steak House to Pizza Hut (goddammit, I wanted pizza), went back to sleep for a bit. Had lunch w/Mom and Dad, and Mom brought me birthday cookie (I totally thought I wasn't getting anything like that--Kristy offered to make me a birthday cake, but she didn't go to work Thursday or Friday because of Coldzilla), so yay! The parents gave me $$$ rather than presents. They know me so well. (Well, Mom said that she looked for a steering wheel cover but couldn't find one I'd like. I asked where she looked and immediately came up w/a store she missed. Lol.) Dad said his desk came in, etc, and he'd been putting it together, so I offered to come help him with it.

After he left Mom gave me The Record. (This is a long story, more on that later.) I took it, and the cookie, and the leftover pizza to my house (hey, I have pizza!...) then went out to Dad's office and helped him with the desk (which is black and glass and is going to look hot. Apparently Maxim magazine has a furniture line, and, more surprising, my dad actually likes it). He had to leave at 2:30 because he and Mom had a Lions thing in Little Rock (District Governor training, lol), so then I went around shopping. Got a Hello Kitty license plate frame at AutoZone (I went to look at steering wheel covers because I figured Mom only looked for purple ones and I could find something I liked), bought Ultra Violet Manic Panic and a fingernail-piercing kit at Tattooz by Sassy (where Brandon got his tattoo, when I went with him, lol), then it occurred to me to look at Hastings and found the matching steering wheel cover. ^_^ There was too much pink on it (waaaay more than the frame) so I doctored it (later) with colored Sharpies. YAY. Looks better than you'd think.

Got a call from Nico and hung out with him for a while--he's been sick, so we just watched TV-on-torrent-downloaded-and-burned-DVD and ate popsicles. He gave me an awesome PotC birthday card that plays the main theme when you open it. Soooooo going on my desk, at least for a little while. Left his place and went to SmartStyles to have my hair done. I got the red redone and had just a little bit of layering put in. While I was waiting, I missed a call, but heard the voicemail alert, so checked my messages, and SAM had called me. "Hey, it's Sam. Um, happy birthday! I'll talk to you later. Bye." SQUEE! Called Kristy and she said she gave him my number. :) Stored it.

Stopped at Arby's for dinner, and the only downer of the day happened--they quit selling cheesecake bites. I told the girl at the window that they couldn't DO that, it was my birthday, and that I was writing to corporate, lol.

Went home and started to use the Manic Panic, but read that you're supposed to use a tint brush, went on a wild goose chase to Walgreens and back to Wal*Mart, only to come back home and do it by hand. -_-* Oh well. Noticed that Wal*Mart was selling some restaurant booths for $40 a pop. Watched some TV (House, yay!) and went to bed.

Saturday--Nico woke me up wanting to go shopping, I told him to give me time to flatiron my hair, Kristy called wanting out of the house and to tell me that I DID have birthday cake, lol. Long story short me, Nico, Kristy, and Brandon ended up at Wal*Mart, I bought one of the restaurant booths (can you think of anywhere else to get a table and seating for four for $40?--I'll likely replace it eventually, but OMG I HAVE A TABLE), and Brandon drove it over in his truck. He and Nico were just leaving when Kristy and I got there, so Kristy and I went about our shopping while the two menfolks delivered my truck. Apparently they had to dis- and reassemble it to get it in. They ate some of my birthday cookie, and I would have been mad, but they cleaned the table, too. ^_^

In the meantime Kristy and I had...a meal of indeterminate name at McD's, lol, then went to drop off my groceries at my house before going to her house to meet up everyone for the club. Jacqui dropped by (I had missed a call from her, I had planned on calling her back from Kristy's) and gave me my present (Ty Pennington's book, which actually did have the nice pictures that I thought it didn't, that misunderstanding being the reason I didn't plunk down $20 for it when it first came out, and Hello Kitty gummy snacks, lol), and came with us to Kristy's, where A) Sam, Dena, and Raymond were watching Sin City, and B) all us girls put on club makeup/glitter lotion/really nice fake tattoos that I had just picked up at Wal*Mart. (Somehow, of course, I ended up watching Elijah Wood get mutilated/killed/etc, and totally missed all the good parts of that movie. -_-*) Boondock Saints also got watched, I got to sit next to Sam a lot.

At some point he asked if I got his message, and I was all, "Yeah! That was really sweet. *big grin*" When we left for the club, it was me, J, Kristy, and Sam in Kristy's car. ^_^ Had some drinks at the club, nothing new other than the Jamaican Wet Dream (something Nico had once a long time ago, the one time we went to the club before I could drink). Good stuff. Danced a little with Sam but was hesitant to touch him, had another drink, told Kristy about it all and she was like, "Dude, just back up to him and give him some *bump/grind motion here*!" Lol. Went to dance some more and couldn't find him. Brandon offered to dance with me and I turned him down. (I don't know. Salsa's one thing, but grinding him? Just no. And I like to grind, thanks. Nico says this is immature of me, Kristy was all "Frickin right!" I just knew I didn't want Sam to see me dancing with him and get the wrong idea.)

Complained to Kristy about not being able to find Sam (it was really crowded) and she helped me look--he was playing pool. Grabbed another drink and watched him play (I thought he kinda sucked, but I think he was just having an off night because apparently he's played in tournaments, etc), then dragged him back to the dance floor. This time I put my arms around his neck and he didn't seem to mind too much. X3 Danced until I was ready to fall over.

Sam came with me back to the table and met everybody (it was kind of funny, he hadn't been back to the table once Nico and his group showed up, I think Nico was starting to think I had made him up o_O). Then they gave last call/last song and we all left. I complained about the cold and Sam gave me his jacket. :D There was a lot of fighting going on in the parking lot--there had been cop cars there when we got there. We decided Sam should drive since he was the only one who hadn't had ANY alcohol, though I think either Jacqui or I would have been fine to drive. Kristy, on the other hand, was pretty sloshed (and for the record, Kristy gets lovey when she's drunk, she gave out lots of hugs, lol). We almost ran over people trying to get out of the parking lot. It was CRAZY. We had to pull over for Kristy to decide she wasn't sick after all, the group in Jared's car took the long way around, through Midway, and I don't even know about Nico.

We went inside Kristy's for a minute, I grabbed the rest of my cake (Kristy, J and I had each had a slice earlier, in between the makeup and stuff), and then Stuart was like, "I love you all, but I'm tired, so I'm kicking you out!" Lol. Gave the keys to Jacqui and told her to get in the car, and then everyone else walked off and it was just me and Sam standing there and I asked if he was working the next day.
"No."
"Well...do you want to have dinner with me tomorrow?"
"Uh...sure. You have my number, right? From when--"
"Yeah, from when you called me. I'll call you...tomorrow afternoon?"
"Sure. See you tomorrow."

Got in the car, squeed, drove home with J, and we chilled for about an hour (okay, okay, we drooled over Ty) and she went home.

Sunday (today)--Slept until about 2:30, got up, had some breakfast. Kristy texted me to have me go for a walk with her, got dressed, went over there. Called Sam on the way and set up dinner (as I told Kristy later: "It's supper, with Sam, at six, at the Steak House. It's all nicely alliterative."). Kristy and I walked from her house to work (she's determined to get back in shape and so she's walking to work this week, so she wanted to time it), then halfway back before her knee started to hurt--she twisted it a little last night, dancing. Stuart came and got us, we stopped at the gas station to say hi to Jared (he called after we walked through the parking lot and was all indignant, lol), then went back to Kristy's, then I went home to refresh before meeting Sam.

We were both a little early, lol. Dinner was nice, even though conversation was slow--I think we have the whole "it takes a while to get started with someone" thing going on. My silence, at first, is not at all indicative that I'm not having a good time.

As we were finishing, I was all, "Uh...do you want to go do something else?"
"Sure."
"Well, there's only two things to do in this town besides go eat, and that's go bowling or see a movie...and I really don't want to go bowling."
"Let's go see a movie."

We called the two movie hotlines (HA, I'm not the only one with them in my phone! XD) and decided on Jumper. I texted Jennifer from the theater bathroom, lol, to say that dinner had progressed to dinner-and-a-movie, and that so far he had picked up the tab even though I had done the asking. She texted back "Good boy!!!" Lol.

Jumper was good, Rachel Bilson's actually a decent actress (I was shocked; still hate The OC). I really wanted to grab Sam's hand, but resisted--though my hand was within his reach most of the time, lol.

After the movie I asked Sam if he wanted to do anything else or call it a night, and he just kinda shrugged, "Was there anything you wanted to do?"
"Nothing in particular, just, I don't have to be anywhere until I have to get to sleep..."

We decided to call it a night and I drove him back to his car, and as he was getting out, he was like, "Well, see you later." GACK. SAVE THE MOMENT.
"I had fun."
"Yeah...hey, when do you get off work tomorrow?"
*mental sigh of relief* "Well, four-thirty theoretically, but I usually get there half-an-hour late, so--"
"Five."
"Yeah."
"Well, do you want to do something tomorrow?"
"Yeah."
"Call me when you get off work?"
"Yeah."

:D So I have another date with him tomorrow. Checked my voicemail and Nico had called during the movie, called him back, and we decided to hang out and he'd be there to get me in a few moments, which I used to call Kristy and update her. Nico and I drove around aimlessly, did our construction rounds and got some fast food before he dropped me off. Watched some TV, started downloading the ep of Lost I missed to see Rent, and the complete series of John Doe (how did I forget about THAT this long??), wrote this, and went to bed. Here's to tomorrow!

At the costume party night before last, Abi asked me what I was, and when I told her I was the snow queen, she was all, "Ohh, I hate you." She was kidding, lol.

I told her I'd fix it so that it would snow everywhere except in a little circle right where she was, so just now I took my "wand" from my costume over to her cube and waved it around and I told her "Okay. Now it will never, EVER snow in your cube." Haha.

I plan on posting pics sometime this weekend. Rent is tonight, and we're going clubbing Saturday night, but other than that the weekend is mine to go crazy in. Hehe.

ETA: There was a deploy last night so Kristy's not here, she worked late yesterday and got even more hours last night. She left a note on my dry-erase board: "if you reading this...i was eated by teh ZOMBIEZ! my escape Routes not sufficient. zombies imune to stapelers. Take care of mah fishies. I love you all."

...had it been me, I would have left staples all over the floor, like we did at Taco Bell back when they had staplers that unfolded in the traditional way and the teenage guys used to have staple wars. More convincing that way. X3

Nico and Brandon found the cave a couple of days ago but for whatever reason didn't go inside
Sarah says:
there were two tunnels, we went down the left one first, and it only went back as far as from, like, here to the staircase
Sarah says:
so then Brandon tried the other one, because you had to get down and crawl to go through it, and it went back even less, lol

...and as I was typing that, Tech Support Joe told someone "I don't need another angry customer calling me and telling me that...I killed their mother, or whatever." I asked if someone really said that to him (giggling like mad, lol) and he said yeah, but that's because he was shooting at her. In Iraq. Lol.

*sigh*

Abi isn't here today, either. I have to eat lunch by myself. Ah well, my plan was to not clock out anyway, if I eat at my desk and click things on my screen while I'm doing it, I'll feel less guilty. Lol.

Me: Yeah, if I was ever in a situation where I was hanging over the edge of a cliff, or suspended from a wire, where it was basically hang on or die--
Kristy: You'd die?
Me: I'd die. I have no upper body strenghth.
Kristy: Me either.
William (the other tester that actually works in the building, in the cube across from her): I do. I have plenty of upper strength or whatever. Seriously. I tear nerds in half.
Me and Kristy: *odd looks*
William: I don't know.
Me: If you tear nerds in half, isn't that a safety risk? In this company?
~~~yesterday, as I left for lunch
Yesterday was William's birthday. 21st, go him. And his girlfriend turned 20--they have the same birthday. FATE! Lol.
I should go to bed earlier. Or get serious about the 28-hour day thing.
There's been a rash of Monty-Python-related lolcats on ICHC...coincidental? Probably not. Funny? Definitely.
These are neat, especially "Phantom Words." Thank you, Neil Gaiman, for blogging.
MSN is down, which is weird. Not that it's having issues; it's to be expected now and again, lol, but being cut off from everyone. Kristy's not even here (there was a deploy last night; Nico came in with me, which was awesome and now he finally knows what the building looks like, lol) so I'm all alone (and being singularly unproductive, lol. I usually am before lunch.).
If you have MSN, go download MSN Plus. It's worth it, and free. Hello, orange font in MSN! Not to mention easier management of emotes and tabbed chatting, if you like that. (I don't, but everyone else raves about it.) And custom statuses, and auto-replies.
Yesterday while Kristy, Abi and I were eating lunch in the commons Brad came and sat himself down, and said that it was one of those days and he needed to bask in the presence of some pretty girls for a few minutes. Kristy said we were up for being basked in anytime, and it led to "hey, if this is such a valuable service, we should get paid for this!" Brad was all, "I only want 10% for coming up with it," and then I pointed out that that meant Kristy, Abi, and I would each get 30% so it all worked out beautifully. We've gotta look into that. XD
Tonight I'm going home and putting together my Marvelous Mail box. It needs to go out Friday and I'm sending it early if it kills me. Maybe next time I'll send it out WAY early. :D
Not only did I find out this morning that there IS, in fact, a movie of Neil Gaiman's Stardust (it just came out last year; I'm not entirely certain how I missed that...I mean, I know I never watch TV, but DAMN), but I just checked on IMDB and dude, Ian McKellen's in it. Or at least his voice is, he's listed as Narrator, lol. I have that book in my pile of books to read, I should, you know, read it. (Along with its 200+ pilemates, lol.)
And dude. The Cake Guy reposted the quiz-thingy I posted yesterday and said (and I copy-and-paste):
25. DO YOU LIKE THE PERSON WHO SENT THIS TO YOU?
She seems pretty cool.
^_^ Hooray for early-morning ego boosts. I declare today a good day.
This went around at work a while back...my answers have been sitting in my inbox for like, two weeks...so these are out of date, lol. Whatever.
1. WERE YOU NAMED AFTER ANYONE?
Biblical Sarah, theoretically; and my grandmother and I share the same middle name.
2. WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME YOU CRIED?
Um. Surprisingly not that recently. You'd think it would've been Sunday, no?
3. DO YOU LIKE YOUR HANDWRITING
I ADORE my handwriting. It's actually kind of sick.
4. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE LUNCH MEAT?
Ew.
5. DO YOU HAVE KIDS?
Not even in my fantasies.
6. IF YOU WERE ANOTHER PERSON WOULD YOU BE FRIENDS WITH YOU?
Huh. If I was another person, I wouldn't be here to answer that... >.>
Sarcasm? Me? NOOO, NEVER! No way! Uh-uh!
If someone else funded it, I'd be up for it, but I'd rather go hang-gliding.
Red. (Eww, it's pink...)
16.  WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE THING ABOUT YOURSELF?
