Kristy dragged me outside for a minute today. The cell phone reception was sucky today, and by that I mean there were a few long stretches where all of us on Cingular (yeah, yeah, the new AT&T, whatever...what's the point of coming up with a name as clever/catchy/pleasant-sounding as Cingular only to ditch it in the merger??) had zero bars. She was trying to text Stuart so we went outside. We ended up discovering that it was the network, not being inside (which makes sense as she texts from her desk all day, usually), but I'm getting off topic. The point is I spent about five to seven minutes outside, not in transit from a door to a vehicle.
HELL.
The sun was shining, there was pretty much no breeze...I think officially it was in the 70's but it felt hellishly hot. I felt itchy and sweaty and ICKY. Ewwwww. I think I hate heat more than I hate being wet. (Wet I can tolerate in small doses, in the right conditions. Like in the shower, or in the rain if I have something to protect my hair.)
I. HATE. HEAT. *dies* (It's not a coincidence that hate anagrams to heat, IMHO.)
So I'm officially retreating to the indoors--if you want me outside, you'll have to wait until the sun is down, and even then it's iffy. After dark TODAY it wasn't so bad, but unless it starts raining torrentially it's going to be so bad, soon.
On to more pleasant topics--went and did laundry at Kristy's, and Stuart fired up their little charcoal grill and made AWESOME CHEEZBURGERS. ^_^ And they were sooooo good (even if the charcoal did go out and they had to finish cooking in the oven). OMG. I don't think I've had a charcoal-cooked burger in years. I'm thinking of getting myself a charcoal grill...
Then when I got home I stopped and grabbed the mail, and the internet and electric statements were waiting for me. I was thinking to myself how Dad always used to say he never got anything in the mail but bills and how I never believed him until I moved out...and then when I finally sat down and opened them, I got a pleasant surprise. For whatever reason, my electric is FREE! Possibly not just this month, either, but for the next month or two as well. I THINK this is my initial $180 deposit (from when I moved in) being returned to me for being such an awesome customer who always pays her bill on time (with the exception of the very first payment, which got lost in the mail and caused me to decide to pay it in person from then on). Not certain, will call tomorrow. Considering my bill is ALWAYS between $55 and $65 (yes, even though I keep my place @ 68 degrees year-round, yay levelized billing), that's a free ride for three months! ^_^ I'm going to call tomorrow and get this confirmed, and switch to the billing where it's the EXACT same every month, now that I have over a year's worth of records for them to work with. ^_^ YAY YAY YAY.
Going to bed now. Have a good night!
