It snowed Friday night when I had to close. >_< Luckily Debbie (my cousin in town) had said I could stay over if it got bad, and Robert agreed to come back and drive me over. (In retrospect, I probably could have driven over to Debbie's but not away from there.) In the morning the kids went to play in the snow and measured 5.5 inches!
We swung by Taco Bell--I was thinking of driving home, but just riding from one end of Cardinal Street to the other (a mile or two-ish, for those of you who don't live here) convinced me to stay off the road. Rodney moved my car into the abandoned parking lot across the street from Taco Bell (our overflow parking area, or summer parking--it's the parking lot of the old Wal-Mart before they built a new one across town) and drove me home (they were coming out to visit my aunt anyway, we live on the same property). Thankfully Ken let me off work that night (Saturday) and I wasn't scheduled again until today. Yay!
Nico doesn't get our attitudes about snow. Now I get why Mountain Homers complain about all the imported Chicagoans. XD (Just kidding, hon, you know you rule.) Considering everything, I think we had a pretty smooth shift, though, and it was nice that everyone pitched in as far as giving people rides and stuff (thanks, Robert!). I dooooo kind of wish that I lived close enough to walk home in the snow, though. I totally get that.
Now, how's that for a post riddled with parentheses? XD
