...but I probably won't, as I'm sure I'll hear about it around the office if/when he advances.
You see, there's a Mountain Homie on there this year. Local boy makes good (as they've said about Wes Bentley a few times). He's been touted as being from MH and from Gassville, but that's pretty much the same thing, lol. Here's the video. =)

In other news, there is no news, other than the foot of snow out there. Or, as I put it to
kitty0_o, IT'S SNOW LIEK WHOA. Kept us home from work yesterday and today (well, Cody was supposed to work today. Not me). Hopefully the roads are clear by Monday morning, or if not, I may be carpooling--which doesn't bother me in and of itself, but I don't particularly like having to pack a lunch multiple days in succession, mostly because I don't like having to wash my bento box by hand if the dishwasher doesn't happen to be full.
Also, I've discovered that the blogs I most enjoy reading are the sort that tend to have lots of pictures, with a few words of explanation. (See Garcia, Jorge, Goth, Cupcake, and Gaiman, Neil, going in order from best to worst examples, lol.) And I feel like this effect must be achieved by people who have devices that have both picture-taking and internetting capabilities (iPhone is what leaps to my mind, but I know at least that that's not what Neil Gaiman uses, because he talks about his phone a fair bit), because I can't imagine going to the effort of removing photos from the digital camera that often. I mean, how long did it take me to get the wedding photos online, once I had them? And that was on a CD, not a device where I had to open it up to remove the card.
In other words, that's quite shiny, but I'm quite lazy. XD

I hate politics...
Jun. 25th, 2009 03:31 amAnd I hate Hillary Clinton as well, for several reasons, varying from political to personal to feminist. And now, grammatical...

Now, the wedding date bit is not at all uncomfortable and to be expected at this point, lol--but the babies comment DOES create an incredibly uncomfortable moment. Cody and I actually had a friend-of-the-family tell us first that we looked like brother and sister (yeah, I think it's the eyes--and I imagine we'd get this even more often if I didn't flatiron, which is just more incentive to keep doing it) and then went on to say "Well, I guess you'll know what the babies will look like!" We both just kind of stood there until she changed the subject.
(And after the Hillary lol I feel the need to point out that yes, I know full well that the bit at the bottom should read "Compliments given to my girlfriend and me." I can't help it. That's how it was posted.)

Obama Drastically Scales Back Goals For America After Visiting Denny's
A friend of mine posted this on Facebook, and OH, it's so true.
Why oh why oh WHY...
Jun. 9th, 2009 12:35 am...is this not a real product???
I would personally go in for "Classic Musty Smell," but that's because I have a soft spot in my heart for books that come from secondhand shops.
In other news, I'm looking at wedding cakes on the internet. =) Three words: mad hatter cake. Google it.

I SO WANT THIS BOOK.
IDK if I actually need to read it, lol. I just think it'd be incredibly lulzy to leave it lying around.
(It's probably a child psych book in all honesty. But ROFL!)
ETA: It's actually referring to failing in school.
So as I said in my Facebook status, Cody and I watched all six Star Wars movies, in episode order, over Thursday and Friday night. (I-IV on Thursday and V and VI on Friday.) To clarify for the geeks, these were the "remastered" versions--Hayden Christensen appeared at the end of Return of the Jedi. That didn't bother me, as the new computer animation stuck out like a sore thumb in most cases. It's Lucas' baby to alter as he pleases, the OCD side of me is actually really glad that they put Hayden in because now it matched. ("Same character, different actor" is one of those things that really gets under my skin. If your actor won't or can't come back, then write them out one way or another.)
Thoughts? Nothing amazing to discuss, really. Even though I'd never seen one all the way through (A New Hope had been on cable at one point and Mom and Dad had watched it, and I sporadically caught a few scenes, but the only part I really remembered was the trash compactor scene), I knew the basic gist of all the plot points. (SPOILER: Darth Vader is Luke's dad!! ZOMG!)
I don't know why people whine about the newer movies being so terrible, other than maybe the existence of Jar Jar Binks. Lots of action and stuff. Good overall.
Anyway. I'm off to reread
iharthdarth. Some of the jokes might make more sense now, lol.
Oh, and call me nuts, but I actually want to see the animated Clone Wars movie now.

You Are City |
![]() You prefer big lights and big dreams over the slow paced life of the country. You crave excitement, and the city has many opportunities for you. While you appreciate the peace and quiet of the country, it's a little too quiet. You need lots people, culture, and action to feel truly alive. |
...no, I don't really appreciate the peace and quiet of the country. Like at all.

Oh, oh God. The painful truth!
Though I think we're finally starting to get more questions than answers.
On the other hand, I think my brain isn't quite as good as it was back when the show first started--I don't make connections as well as I used to.
I finally got frustrated with Facebook and such not working like they should in Firefox 2 and installed Firefox 3. (You may remember that I was irritated at the loss of RealPlayer's "Download This Clip" plugin and my purple stars theme.) After a brief snafu over it not re-importing my bookmarks (yay Mozilla support!) I am pleased to announce that I like Firefox 3, and all of you who use Firefox should install Personas. (Yay LJ rich text editor works too!) Personas is kinda like themes, but less complicated and easier to make your own, lol. It's AWESOME. I have SNOWFLAKES.
That being said... MEMES!
