So as I said in my Facebook status, Cody and I watched all six Star Wars movies, in episode order, over Thursday and Friday night. (I-IV on Thursday and V and VI on Friday.) To clarify for the geeks, these were the "remastered" versions--Hayden Christensen appeared at the end of Return of the Jedi. That didn't bother me, as the new computer animation stuck out like a sore thumb in most cases. It's Lucas' baby to alter as he pleases, the OCD side of me is actually really glad that they put Hayden in because now it matched. ("Same character, different actor" is one of those things that really gets under my skin. If your actor won't or can't come back, then write them out one way or another.)

Thoughts? Nothing amazing to discuss, really. Even though I'd never seen one all the way through (A New Hope had been on cable at one point and Mom and Dad had watched it, and I sporadically caught a few scenes, but the only part I really remembered was the trash compactor scene), I knew the basic gist of all the plot points. (SPOILER: Darth Vader is Luke's dad!! ZOMG!)

I don't know why people whine about the newer movies being so terrible, other than maybe the existence of Jar Jar Binks. Lots of action and stuff. Good overall.

Anyway. I'm off to reread [livejournal.com profile] iharthdarth. Some of the jokes might make more sense now, lol.

Oh, and call me nuts, but I actually want to see the animated Clone Wars movie now.

SDLKADFKADGFLAFLKASLKASFG:ASFGASFGASJF YAYYYYYYYY!!!!

This makes me a lot happier than it reasonably should. :P

Boo remastered versions. Haha I'm such a purist. I don't really mind Hayden being stuck in, or the lame CGI, but remember: HAN SHOT FIRST. BECAUSE HE'S JUST THAT KIND OF GUY.

The new movies weren't terrible, just not as awesome as the old ones. Oh, actually, nix that, Episode II makes me want to spork my eyes out with Anakin being bawwww emo and then the part where they're frolicking in the flowers with those creepy CGI things. *barfs*

I got to do a Star Wars cake yesterday and it turned out AWESOME.

Oh also by the by I got your save the date! *glomps you* I prolly won't be able to make it (boo school) but all the best to you two :D

Lol. The remastered versions were what was readily available in a torrent WITH the prequel trilogy. It's actually kind of lulzy when you can be all "Well, THAT'S new," even when you haven't seen what was there that was old. =)

Han shot first...on which occasion? 'Cause he did a lot of shooting, lol.

Yay Star Wars cake! I got ice cream cake for my bday and I totally thought of you. But it had one of those stick-on picture transfer things, it wasn't actually decorated. I'd boo that but it was Happy Feet, lol.

Yay! When did you get it? My other friends in Canadialand were reporting back like a week after they were mailed, lol. And I kind of figured you wouldn't be able to since you're using all your hard-earned moolah to go to NYC, lol. But thanks! ^_^

Ah, you see, the biggest complaint about the remastered versions is the scene when Han shoots Greedo (the green alien in the bar in Mos Eisley who is going to turn him in to Jabba in Episode IV). Because in the original Greedo's like "Imma turn you in in," and Han's like "LOL NO," and shoots him. But when they redid it they made it look like Greedo shot at him first because apparently it would be a bad role model for children to have the good guy shooting someone without provocation.

I don't know when I actually got it, because I only check my school mailbox every few weeks and I forgot that you were sending me something. And I actually probably would have enough money still, it's more of a problem that November is Big Scary Assignments month for uni students. D:

I never really thought of Han as the Good Guy, lol. Luke was the Good Guy, and Han's kind of the off-to-the-side daring-rogue love interest. But, like...that's why you rate the movie PG. So parents talk to their kids and all that jazz, lol.

Lol, either way, I didn't think you'd be able to make it. (If things work out you're more than welcome, though! ^_^) But I figured you'd like the invite anyway.
