Cody and I went to visit his grandparents (his bio dad's parents) tonight, to tell them the good news. They were pleased, and his grandfather felt the need to pass on some advice:

"Now, son, there are three things that make a marriage."

When a man in his 70's who's been married going on 53 years starts with that, you expect him to follow it with something along the lines of "Love, trust, and commitment." What he said was:

"Love, God, and sex."

LOL WUT?

Then he went on to say that you need a lot of love for later, when the sex stops, like it has for them. Other than that he didn't go into any detail about any of those three, really, and went on to say that he loves his wife more than he did even when they got married, thinks she's just as pretty now, etc etc. But wow. Lol. I'm still giggling over it. When we left, Cody was all "...I think my grandpa just tried to give us the birds and the bees talk..." I just giggled and told him I loved him, 'cause, like...lol, what do you say?

I love his family. ^_^
