...I've been to the movies three times this week.

SatC was awesome. If you liked the series, you'll be happy with the movie. You may have gripes (Nico's was that it was too long, mine was that there wasn't enough Stanford and his storyline felt a little contrived), but overall you'll be happy. And yes, the fashion is the same as ever--sometimes awesome, sometimes awesomely bad. I dare you to find another movie in which the bride wears a bird on her head. (To be fair, though, Nico and I decided it might count as the something blue.)

When Nico and I got there, there were NO MEN in the theater. XD By the time it was over two others showed up--one obviously dragged by his wife/girlfriend/whatever--but Nico looked around and was like "That's right! Representing the boys!" and a bunch of ladies laughed. It was hilarious. He also leaned over and said that most of them were probably jealous of me for having such an amazing boyfriend that would actually go to SatC. Lol. I kind of hope that Mountain Home is actually getting that enlightened, though.

Caspian: again, awesome. I won't say it's better than the first, though it's for sure at least on a par. It strays further from the book (which was one of the things that impressed me about the first movie). They add in an entire battle, a kiss, and when it's suggested that they bring back the White Witch, the scene is mostly correct but it takes it further than the book. The movie is also told in a different order; the book starts with the four Pevensie children and Caspian's story is told to them, but the movie cuts between the two storylines as they happen. I'm not going to gripe about that sort of thing, someone telling a story within a movie generally tends to be awkward. Framing devices are for books.

The Telmarines are portrayed as a Spanish sort of race, and they're not in the book--the closest thing would be the Calormenes, who are more Arabic, and I originally thought that's what they were going for until I heard Caspian speak more than incidental lines. (And according to his Wikipedia, he based his accent on Inigo Montoya from The Princess Bride, so he just earned some major points, dialect accuracy be damned.) If they do end up making all seven books into movies (ohpleaseohpleaseohpleaseDawnTreaderisalreadyinproductionohplease) I'm curious to see how they're going to differentiate between the Telmarines and the Calormenes.

The other thing was I pictured him younger, but since none of the children's ages are listed anywhere in the books (at least not that I recall) and now that I think about it, it's three years later and he's old enough to get married in the next book, that might be my bad. And have you SEEN Ben Barnes? I'm not going to complain that they cast him in his late teens.

All in all, it wasn't intolerable (the added battle is the only thing that's really off-putting), and I'm willing to forgive its flaws because Ben Barnes is effing hot.

Also, the three of us girls were alone in the theater so we talked as loudly as we wanted. Hee.

Kung-Fu Panda was something I probably would have waited to download, but Kristy wanted to go, and I didn't want her to go alone, and then Abi found out and wanted to come, so I got to see her, too. :D That being said, it's Jack Black as a freaking panda who does Kung Fu. It'd be really hard to go wrong with this, lol. There's not a lot I can say here without giving away a lot of it (the plot, while good, is not complicated) so I'm just going to say that if you like Jack Black, if you like kung fu movies, or if you like all these animated movies with anthropomorphic animals (Madagascar, Happy Feet, etc), odds are you'll like this one. The styling of it was great, too. ^_^

All I can add is this: SKIDOOSH. <= new catchphrase that's making the rounds

I think it goes unsaid that Indiana Jones is probably something that I'm just going to wait and download, since everyone went without me. If I'd known that, I probably would have waited to download the first three, but oh well, I've rewatched them all (I'd seen them, but on TV, and never all together or in the right order, and it had been a few years) and I may watch them again before I watch the new one. Lol.
