So I went to the optometrist today. Long story short: I should have my contacts in about a week. I have to have special ones that correct for astigmatism and they have to special-order them.

As they say on MythBusters--WARNING: SCIENCE CONTENT!
They didn't have contacts like that ten years ago. (We studied this in Physical Science, so a tip of the hat to Dr. Dyer.) Astigmatism is a condition where your eyes focus differently in different directions--like you may see a vertical line correctly but a horizontal line is blurry, or vice-versa. (Apparently mine is on a 45-degree angle, so woot for me.) Anyway, they could always fix this with glasses, because--obviously--the lens has to go in a certain direction. They couldn't do this with contacts until very recently, when someone figured out how to weight the bottom of the lens. You stick it in however and it automatically adjusts itself to be properly right-side-up. Very cool.

Anyway. Ummm...yeah. That's it since yesterday. XD

Oh, and I found the MP3 player I want. I've been telling my family I don't want gifts, I just want donations toward its $200 price tag. ^_^

This one. (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=4570060) Not the smallest, or even the cheapest, but it holds fifteen THOUSAND songs. Which is about five times the size of my current collection, so it should hold all the music I could ever hope to have, at least until the next technology comes along. ^_^

EXACTLY. That's odd, though, the iPods at Wal*Mart (ours anyway) run about $250 but actually have a significantly smaller capacity. I wanna say like 2 or 3 thousand songs.
