I finally finished reading Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

OMFG SHE KILLED ONE OF MY FAVORITE CHARACTERS! Why, Sirius, WHY??? *sobs* I mean...I'd read spoilers, but...somehow I was still in denial even after skipping ahead to see if they were really true.

I have a funny feeling that I've received the inspiration for my first HP fic. If I ever get around to THAT.

Ahhh...I still think the title is a bit odd, Hobbity. It fits but it doesn't. I think I might have named it something more like Propehcy of Mysteries or something to do with the DA or Umbridge or ANYTHING.

I <3 Grawp. "HERMY, WHERE'S HAGGER?" *sniggles madly*

I also <3 Firenze, poor fellow.

I hate Fudge, which is odd, because I liked him back in PoA. I usually don't change my mind, but then, he was a minor character and he WAS an awful prick ever since the end of GoF.

I'm happy that the whole Harry/Cho thing never got that far. I have to say it felt a little "last-minute-throw-in" in GoF, and all through OotP she was whiny and annoying. Really, Ron crushing on Fleur Delacour wasn't that annoying.

Someone (Hobbity and Dutch?) told me I'd like Luna Lovegood, but I have to admit I didn't really feel for her until that last scene with her and Harry in the halls, when she was putting up notices for her stuff.

I adore Tonks. I cannot even begin to describe how effing cool Tonks is. And I SO wish I could do that with my hair.

I think my favorite bit of the whole book, though, was Snape's Worst Memory. I also (beyond residual liking him from Dutchie) REALLY felt for him for the first time--and that may become fanfiction, too. We shall see after I buy Half-Blood Prince on payday!

BTW--if I was in Hogwarts, when career advice came around, I think I'd want to go into the Department of Mysteries--out of sheer curiosity as much as anything else, lol!

And I'm glad that the wizarding world finally accepts Harry and Dumbly's story, and I'm glad they'll all be able to fight and all, but...

...I keep coming back to Sirius. Harry's not the only one who's missing him. And dammit, why didn't Harry find that two-way mirror WAY earlier??? Maybe then Sirius WOULD have had it on him when he died--gack. Harry was also not the only one trying to think up ways to talk to a dead man. Go me.

And, you know, the more I think of it--they never REALLY showed Sirius's body. *dashes off to compse conspiracy theories*

If you think Harry/Cho was last-minute (even though it's been set up since the second book) then you'll really think his next relationship is a sloppily thrown-together plot development (which it is).

I thought the same thing about the mirror. Harry's as stupid as he is hero-complexed.

I don't get what's so cool about Tonks. The only thing she can do that's any different is change her hair color. Big whoop. I can do that too. All I need is a box of hair dye.

I forgot about Gwarp. I felt a little sorry for him, but really, how could Hagrid have gone through the entire school year looking like he's just been run over by who-knows-what and no one gets suspicious. But then again, this is JKR world, home of the one-dimensional characters, so you really can't get that far into things.

Firenze is cool though, I'll admit that. Sirius's death was a shock and a waste of an actually full developed character. Have you read the spoilers of who dies in the next book?

*sniffle* It's a shame that you're really right about the next relationship. But, I suppose that's call "Author Rights." and we be screwed, dearie.

One of the things that really annoys me about JKR's writing is that she does a poor job of developing the relationships and making them plausible. 'Authors Rights' and 'artistic license' are all well and good, but you've got to support it with something other than 'I felt like it', which is what it seems to be most of the time with JKR. For that reason, I think I actually prefer the movies, since they don't get all caught up with the menial subplots and focus more on the main story.

Also, if she had mentioned Harry's 'little monster' one more time, I think I would have chucked the book out the window. He's sixteen! 'Little monster' should only be used for a child younger than twelve!

It's not a pervy thing, don't worry. You'll understand when you read it. *rolls eyes*

XD For once, I wasn't even thinking like that.

'For once' being the key term, hm? :P "Little monster" is JK's expression for jealousy, and in this case, romantic jealousy. Tis annoying.

Lol, "for once" being the key term depending on who I've been hanging around recently.

I remember a throw-aside sentence or two about Harry thinking Cho was pretty from way back, but I would have sworn it was book three, not two.

Tonks can change any aspect of her appearance, not just her hair color, from what I read. I, personally, would love to experiment with different haircuts and not have to worry about it taking a long time to grow back. ^_^ And besides that, she's a younger, cooler wizard than--well, pretty much anyone else in the Order. XD She's like the cooler older aunt or cousin--she'll take you cool places when she has to "babysit" you and she'll let you get away with things and let you play with her makeup.

I have a feeling that Dumbly DID know about Grawp and looked the other way.

Sirius. OMG. I really can't get past why she would DO that. What? Had he served his purpose? Does she just plain not want Harry to be happy (at least until Voldemort's gone)? WHY?

And yes, I know that Snape kills Dumbly in the next one. (Unless you're a maniaical Snape fan and believe he's not really dead. Ahem.)

Well, since she can change her appearance by thinking it, I'm guessing that means 'makeup' also, so she wouldn't have any for you to play with.

I'm not a maniacal Snape fan, and I don't even think that those who are can come up with convincing 'evidence' that Dumbledore is not dead. Usually, the maniacal fans will try to prove who Dumbledore and Snape had it all planned and that Snape isn't really evil because it was agreed long before that. To that I say, 'whatever'.

It wasn't a literal comparison, lol.

Still. There are theorists.

Unlike everyone else who has posted, I enjoyed the 5th book. Fred and George are freakin' funny and amazing. I adore them. I didn't like that Sirius died, but ya know someone had to go and it affects Harry. I really don't care for Harry, but I adore the characters Ron and Hermione. The Cho thing was in there (I think) to remind the readers that Harry is growing up and yet, they are all still kids. Anyway, as for Harry's next relationship, I like it. But I'm a silly romantic at heart.

Enjoy.

I liked it--I DID adore Fred and George. Dragon-skin jackets indeed.

But Sirius! OMG! *sobs*

You finally finished it! w00t! This post brought me back to my own devastation I experienced when Sirius died. I actualy cried, like all-out when I read that bit (after re-reading it 4 or 5 times to make sure I wan't just imagining it).

And Tonks is so hardcore.

The spoilers kept me from crying, but STILL! OMG! I'm still--like--grrr. Mad at JKR.
