My head hurts. I took ibuprofin and it still hurts.

The duct-taped chair? Lasted all of an HOUR. Is now in Dumpster, which yes, is a brand name and is supposed to be capitalized. *needs a new chair*

Was going to post more on DA, and an old pic of myself that I found. Don't care anymore. Head hurts.

...I should probably go to BED.

I duct-taped my butterfly chair together.

Do I still want a new chair for my computer room? Yes, preferably a hard one that I can also use as a stepladder.

Will this work until Monday, when I can afford to buy such a chair?

You betcha.

I think I'm going to hook up my printer/scanner all-in-one and teach myself to use the scanner.

Then I think I shall post some crap on DA, which I am now checking often enough to deem it worthy of a bookmark in my "daily" folder.

My OC_Art 100 table.

31, 36, and 40 are all new! And 40's kind of spoilerish for an unposted bit! Was going to post two more, but decided that they were too spoilerish. Will post them when the accompanying chapters are posted.

finally...

...I got around to scanning my painting of Frodo.

Not the greatest, but pretty damn good considering I was working with Crayola paints on a sheet of typing paper.

Just updated at OC_Art100. My table (link in the box on the left) is now 8 out of 100! Yay!

There's a soundtrack for Lost out now. The tracklist cracks me up, though sadly track two is NOT called "Monster Eats the Pilot." *sigh*

The other night (last Friday? I forget when), while I was getting back into my car after filling gas, I went to put my (rather expensive birthday-gift gold) ring back on, and dropped it inside my gearshift. (It had a protective cover when I bought Laurien, but rather than look at the unslightly hole in it, I took it off and now can see inside my gearshift. In retrospect, I should have repaired it with duct tape, because I've lost a hairband and a pen in there.)

I could see it down in there, so that was a good sign. I asked the attendant if she had anything I could use to fish it out, and of course the answer was no. *sigh* So I dug around in my car, but since I try to make a habit of not leaving my general crap all over the place (besides the stuff that lives in there, like an extra brush and scrunchies for long-haired, top-down passengers) there wasn't much. I did manage a pen with a hook on the lid, but an attempt with that made it plain that A) either the pen or my fingers were a bit too fat for that and B) I had not a chance of actually hooking the ring on the hook.

So I thought for a moment about what I might hook it with. I came up with the hairclips in my hair (under my hat at work, I hold back stray wispies with those metal clips that spring back on themselves, like these without the ornamentation). I clipped one onto the end of the other one, which I left open, and quickly discovered that that wasn't long enough. So I took the pen apartto get at the much thinner ink tube inside it. Then I used one hair clip to clip the other to the end of the ink tube. So now I had an ink tube with an hair clip on the end to try and hook it on.

This also proved unsuccesful, because A) the angle made it impossible to hook the ring on the hair clip in a way that it didn't fall when I tried to lift it, and B) there was also no way to force the clip to close without risking losing both my clips in the gearshift, too.

So then I wistfully think if only I had a hook that would actually HOOK. So I go to the attendant again and ask for a paperclip--lo and behold, there's actually a huge box of paperclips on the counter and I'm given one! ^_^ So then I bend the paperclip into a proper hook, and use the hair clip to clip it to the ink tube.

Got my ring out on the first try! Score! How's THAT for problem-solving skills? ^_^

I really don't know why I'm so pleased with myself for that little feat. XD

Had my first actual-test final. Two of my finals are just papers and I already turned one in. So all I have left is Physical Science (IF I decide to take it, I'm thinking I may not just because of the gas money!) and Philosophy.

I could scan something for my OC_Art table, but (since I've been meaning to do it anyway) I'd really like to reorganize my drawings (separate the LotR and D2D stuff from everything else) and then go through and find the prompts I've filled, as well as what I need to draw...so I think I'll head home early today, take a nap, and get that all done tonight.

I will be updating SID if I can get FOS to work. If not I'll probably email the pertinent info to Shelly so she can do it.

WOOT!

To the people wondering why I'm spamming up their flists, I swear that this will be the last post today. Really. If I think of anything else I'll add it to this one. ^_-

Kat-chan ([profile] darkest_crocus) wrote me a story for my birthday, and she's been posting bits and pieces ever since my birthday. You can now read the whole thing here. READ IT. You know you want to. (And, Katchan, regarding what you mentioned on DA: I think it would be a WONDERFUL animated movie. Nor would it make a bad live-action movie, but it really doesn't seem as suited to that.)

I posted my first pic at OC_art100, the table for all of them can be found in the links box to the left. Yay me and HTML! I'm going to go through all the pics I've already drawn, see which ones are suited to which prompts, and spend time over the next few weeks and scan and post those. Whatever prompts are left (I'm thinking I'll only have about 25 out of 100 filled, lol) will go onto my D2D art list. (I have ideas more often than I have time to draw, and therefore keep a list of all the pics I want to draw eventually, lol.)

Had dinner with Nico and then went to his place last night, and walked down to the lake. He still hasn't managed to teach me to make a stone skip more than twice, lol. I can't even do that consistently. We found the remains of a dead deer, ew. All that was left was its head. Ick ick ick. Burned two more CD's (like I need them, my song count is approaching 3,000, if I would enter in all the CD's I haven't yet, it'd be around 2,950, and by the time I get done copying all the CD's I've borrowed it'll be higher yet!).

Nico, FYI: I do like Flogging Molly. I've heard Roller Coaster before, just didn't know who it was. And the title is NOT "Stop, Children, What's that Sound?" It's "For What It's Worth" by Buffalo Springfield. ^_- Yay Google.

The physical science class voted--unanimously--to scale up all the exams and scale down the final so that they're all the same weight, and so right now I have a 93.5 in the class and I don't have to take the final if I don't want to. If I do my grade MIGHT go up, if I don't it'll stay the same. In any case it won't go down. I probably will take it, though, just out of curiosity more than anything.

Tonight is the cast party for Acting/Theatre Practicum. Free pizza YAY!

D2D

I'm thinking joining this community and claiming D2D.

What you do is draw a picture for each of 100 prompts. They give you the HTML to set up a table with each prompt as a link to the pics. No time limit or anything. All the pics have to be for the same fandom (in my case, D2D).

The prompts are single words--yellow, beginnings, rain, etc. So say I see the prompt "rain," draw a pic of the OC's at Helm's Deep, I can post that. Then somehow (not sure yet how it works exactly) I can post my table and if you click on "rain" it'll link to the pic.

Basically it's a challenge/excuse to draw 100 pics. ^_^ I asked if I could claim a fanfic and when I hear back I'll be better-informed as to whether or not I want to do it. (Also, I think I'll probably have about ten of 'em filled in to begin with as I have a fairly voluminous backlog of D2D art already...)

ETA: This is the table of prompts.

^_^ Click here and watch this guy get signatures to end women's suffrage. If you don't get it, don't ask me to explain it...and please, stop talking to me until you do. Really.

This is my best friend Kat's site. Go there or die. ^_- It's also been added to my links box at left. The best thing on there right now is Faerie Tale, which she has written for me as an ongoing birthday present. And she has pretty art for it too! I mean, look at this...

Click for full version--but if you steal this image, I will hunt you down.

Now, I have to finish writing a paper for Sociology. Grr.

Dollmaker!

I made this:

That's the link to Candybar Maker 2. If you click on "List of Makers" near the top, there are other models to make guy dolls, houses/rooms, other stuffs.

I am soooo coming back and making the four D2D principles, both before and after ME. Just, not right now, as I need to skedaddle home, lol.

Two stray thoughts that crossed my mind. (Actually, the former was inspired by Dad.)

(Both are click to enlarge, as they're QUITE huge.) Like I told you, Hobbity, feel free (read: PLEASE!) to rip these off for Ringses.

This is also for those of you who don't really know my drawing style to get a glimpse of it. (Mind you, I can paint fine-art style, that's different.)

LOST pics!

First off, here's the PB&J pic I mentioned earlier, the one where I was sure Claire had lost the baby... If the show had gone this way, I might've turned it into a finished pic...

Now, here, for kicks...it's a pic of Dom and Evie. And...wow...it just says it all to me.

Evie: Look at my cute boyfriend. Look. Isn't he hot? Don't you want him?
Dom: What the bloody heck am I doing here with her?

And, now, for Charlie:
See. Once she's had the baby, ta-da! I think she looks like rock-star-girlfriend material...

I scanned a few of my pen-and-ink doodles to post on DLBE and thought I'd share here, as well. Dude. There was a time when I NEVER doodled in pen, and now I practice a lot in pen before pencilling the final pic. (I finally get it, Kat! Lol...)

They're all click-to-enlarge...

This is Elijah Wood, and a girl, for a story in the works. I haven't figured out her name yet. That's why the story has only gotten about four paragraphs long so far. XD At any rate, in this story, he was never famous...personally I think it's a very obvious plotline, and it's really just going to be fluff. But I shall enjoy myself writing it. (Oh, and the notation in the bottom right corner says "Bad feet." Because they are. I tend not to bother getting hands and feet perfect in my pen sketches since what I'm usually trying to perfect is the "look" of a character, or a particular expression, or outfit...)

This is Lijah from the same story. Basically I drew this in response to the reaction at DLBE--everyone was commenting on how they liked his glasses, so I wanted to have a front view of them. The shirt is a tip of the hat to the infamous Toronto photo shoot. (And this is how I shall know the difference between the Lijah-fans and non-Lijah-fans among my commenters, lol--all the Lijah fans know EXACTLY which photo shoot I mean without even seeing the pic.) I'm REALLY proud of his hair here. I'm not that good with short hair. Why do you think I prefer drawing Hobbits? And Legolas? And Boromir, and Aragorn, and Faramir, and the LotR girls...

This is Charlie and Claire, from Lost. (Yes, drawn on Lost Season One Box Set DVD Day...can you imagine trying to fit that into a calendar square if that really was an official holday? XD) Why did I draw her still pregnant? I don't know. Probably because I didn't feel like drawing Aaron, and I feel like I have to include him if I draw her unpregnant, which probably stems from the "I'm so sorry..." pic I drew. (That was a pic of Charlie comforting her, not pregnant anymore, that I drew after they ended the ep where she came back, but you couldn't tell if she was still pregnant or not and I convinced myself that she'd lost the baby. I have that on my computer, I should post that again...) At any rate, they're looking awfully SD there. It wasn't intentional, but I think it's kind of cute. Fits the mood. (It was probably because I was in a classroom and wasn't thrilled with the idea of trying to explain what I was drawing and therefore tried not to make so big that it wouldn't fit under my hand...)

This is my D2D/SID character, Hobbitized...or I guess I should just say my SID character, lol. This dress has NOT appeared in-story yet...it's concept art for one that will, though. I haven't quite decided how I want the in-story one to look yet but this is awfully close--the finished one will probably be a bit fancier. (And...wow...it looks very much like the sort of dress worn by...oh, darnit, she hasn't been introduced yet. *cackles mysteriously*)

So anyway. There's your look into my notebook today. (Okay, okay...there's a few others, but I'm not as happy with them, lol.)

(Kat: Would any of this cut it at Blue Grade, or would you rather have true finished pics?)

OMG SQUEE!

I just got off the phone with Hobbity!

I'm curious as to how I sounded compared to how you THOUGHT I would sound. Like I told you, you sounded lower and yet younger somehow...

Here's the pic I was doodling to kill the time until you called:
(click to enlarge, silly...and it is rather huge...if you can't decipher my handwriting, comment and I'll translate, lol)

And as I also said...this is a huge spoiler/hint. ^_^ (Take this in the context of May 7th...)
