Actually, I had an entry all nice and typed up on Friday, but hit the wrong button ("Don't push the button! The buttons are bad!" XD) and it got lost in cyberspace, and I was too cranky and frustrated to mess with it at the moment. Go me.
Anyway. It seems I'm the only one that's actually HAPPY that Shannon is gone. I don't miss her, I didn't feel a bit sorry for her (all the flashbacks did was make me happy to see Boone), and I actually felt more for Sawyer than anyone else this episode. I guess my deal is that I've been WANTING this to happen since, like, episode three, and so this was a bit of a dream come true.
After the ep was over I ran out to my mom and yelled, "I thought you said it was SAD!" She said it was sad for Sayid, but, no, I don't think so. Because of NADIA. I'm still trying to figure out why he ever got with Shannon in the first place. (And, honestly, I think Shelly unwittingly summed it up quite nicely: "Ooh, Sayid's gonna get laid!" XD) So now if/when they ever get off the island, Sayid has nothing to explain. He can find Nadia and be happy.
So Shannon's death means one less complication/annoyance, that's how I see it.
Anyway. Am I correct in thinking that the tailies had a few more children with them and they were ALL taken? The Others specialize in kids? Maybe they've got Walt under mind control, and he really did speak to Shannon. I'm so...well, LOST.
I don't like Ana Lucia, in spite of the fact that she did the show a favor. And I'm wondering what Jack saw in her. Though admittedly, she was nicer in the airport, and she's been traumatized since then. But I don't see the much-predicted Jack/Kate/Sawyer/Ana Lucia rectangle happening after all--there's no attraction between Sawyer and Ana Lucia, and I highly doubt that Jack is going to get THAT well reacquainted with her.
And back to Sawyer--for a few moments I thought that the spoilers were wrong (I knew it was Shannon weeks ago) and that he was going to be the one bumped off after all.
And THAT, inexplicably, got to me. So I have to confess...I would really miss Sawyer if he was gone. I'm not saying that I'm infatuated with the character (though Josh...mmm...), but he makes me laugh and he adds a lot of tension and the show would suffer if they lost him. Period. I think that makes me a...*gulp*...Sawyer fan. I'm NOT a Sawyer fanGIRL, though, there's a difference!
Pleasant lack of Jack and Kate, other than Jack's cameo at the hospital. Confirmation that in saving his wife, he let Shannon's dad die--which means that the whole incident took place two years before the crash. (Shannon was 18 at the time and she gave her age to Hurley as 20 when he took his census.)
Other than that, the flashbacks taught us nothing--we already knew that Shannon was denied the money "due" her from Boone's flashback. So basically even Shannon's flashbacks were pointless, other than the appearance of Boone. ^_^
I'm really starting to dig Mr. Echo. I love that name. I hope the tailies start having their own flashback episodes JUST to see his, lol. He reminds me of Locke, and I'm wondering how intentional that is--and if conflict will arise from the two of them disagreeing.
I'm upset that Charlie and Claire are fighting. He means well, and he's trying so hard. Though he is being a bit overbearing...argh. Like Locke said, "Interesting thing to say...for a heroin addict." I'm disappointed that Charlie called himself "recovering"--though it may technically be true, I thought he had more confidence than that.
But by all accounts, it's still a statue--not a broken statue. *sigh*
You know what? I just realized that there wasn't really any Hurley, either. That was odd.
When do they air the ep about "the OTHER 48 days?" The collective tailie flashback?
