...and back at work. I go away for two weeks and I have a new boss and there's signage out front and stripes on half the parking lot and a fountain in the bathroom and WOW.
The front of the building is now labeled "Innovation Center." Cheesy but, you know, still kind of heartwarming. I like it. ^_^
New boss: sort of. Terry is now in charge of a sales team and the gentleman over the call center is Tim, who I vaguely know. I can still go to Terry with questions/concerns, and he said not a lot would change, but now his sales team would tell the call center where to focus their calls. (Though he still wants me to keep going in IL and IN, and is going to recommend this to Tim...lol.) So they're mixing it up a little but it's not a huge deal.
Ashley moved her cube over to the next row, across from Kristy, because Becky-who-used-to-work-from-home (as opposed to HR Becky, lol) is over there now. James has been on that row since day one. So, if I move to the cube next to Kristy, I'll actually be in with the majority of our department (as a matter of fact, everyone but Crazy Betty, lol), which was really the main reason I'd been telling Kristy no. So as soon as I clock back in from lunch I'm going to find Tim (no clue where his office is) and ask if he's cool with me moving. (Terry said he didn't think it'd be a problem.) If so I'm coming back this evening to move--after laundry, before hanging out with Kristy and playing Rockband. (Kristy's coming in, too, to set up her aquarium, so I won't be alone in the big scary building, lol.)
Honestly it's a nicer cube anyway, there's less people walking by and it's more private (read: I can do more on the internet without fear of being seen since I won't be across from Ladell, lol) close to Kristy and the water heater (for our tea), and it's closer to tech support (ie, Frank and Joe, who are cool people). More privacy + more sociability, if that isn't a contradiction.
OH OH OH! I asked Terry about the Lions club and he still hasn't talked to Harvey, I have no idea if Harvey's read my letter, but Terry said not to worry--even if Harvey said he didn't want to spend the money, he (Terry) would sponsor me with money from his sales department. SCORE. So now it's just a waiting game. ^_^
So, changes, yeah, but all good changes, IMHO. YAY.
