So...the Ren Faire. It was pretty freaking awesome. I think I have found my calling in life--to sit around in Renaissance costume and run a till in a clothing shop. ^_^ Am looking into it as soon as I remember, lol. (I think some of them get paid.)
Anyway. There were a lot of pirates--I imagine PotC has had its influence. The one show we all stopped to watch was the pirate show featuring The Pirate Shantyman and the Bonnie Lass (who was pregnant! ^_^). I got some pics/video on my phone, but of course I have no way to post it yet. ;-; Funny stuff, though--they came out a few minutes before the show and started shouting at the passersby--"Start your Sunday morning right! It's the Pirate Gospel Hour!" XD Then they kept reminding us that today's show was brought to us by the letter "ARRRR!"
The clothes they were selling were AMAZING--I could easily have spent $1000 on clothes. Sadly this would have only bought about ten lower-end pieces, but still. I wanted so many of the hats, too! I told a few of them that for the money I could have paid for the clothes I'd be better off investing in a sewing machine and lessons. ^_^ I contented myself with one really pretty necklace. (It's a leaf made of copper. Really red-orange, really pretty.)
My sister Jennifer and I got henna tattoos together. I now have a vine starting at my wrist and trailing up my arm. Kind of abstract, kind of Elven-looking. It looks like something Legolas might have had done during his rebellious teenage years. ^_^ Again, I have pics, but they're on my phone. ;-; I really really really love it, though.
Haha. We watched a joust, and I wasn't sure who to root for--the one guy looked kind of like Frodo (at any rate he had shaggy dark curly hair) and was wearing yellow and green (the Shire colors), and the other guy was wearing purple and named Sir Duncan. XD
FINALLY found a new hematite ring. My last one (that I bought in Canada) suffered a fatal accident--I fell hands-first onto a concrete floor (at camp, during a game) and a few minutes later someone handed me the pieces. *sigh* So yay!
Took a pic of an Elven-king and -queen, with the ears and everything. Lol. Yay.
Amazing how many times I thought of Duncan--I would see so much crap (especially in the weaponry shops and stuff) and wish he was there so I could grab him by the arm and make him come look. *sigh* Lol. Plenty to talk about with him whenever I do see him.
It was a blast. I SO want to go to another one!!
