I'm in possibly one of the worst moods i've been in, in months, so excuse me if i sound not quite as humorful as usual... Firstly, that comment was just a joke, but since we're on the topic, a few things... A) I don't dislike her because she's "trendy" i think you put it. I dislike her for severe lack of talent and genuin-ness. 2) Yes, it is just as irrational to dislike something based soley on it's popularity as it would be vise-versa. But there's other factors to be taken into account. To avoid argument and avoid avril lavigne in my example, i use another band i dislike: Korn. I do NOT dislike them because they're popular. It's the marketing they chose to use, the insincerity and again the falseness of it. It's when they take an obvious turn away from the love of music, to the love of fame and money. (not to mention a horrible cover of Pink Floyd's Another Brick in the Wall parts 1, 2, AND 3) 3) If i'm not mistaken, i had downloaded that song for someone else and it was therefor on my list, and you requested it. When she first came out, she did have a few okay songs. "Complicated" bordered on good (the message was good, the words used to put it across could have been better, can't remember the music at the moment...) and I could stand Skater Boy, but that's about it. It's when she hit mainstream that she took a turn for the worst... 4) You can like whoever you want, that *was* just a joke. Nor do you have to like anything i listen to. I experiment with music, i like things here and there, but i'm not going to pretend to like or not like something based on someone else's oppinion. And you usually do the same...sorta... and that's the best thing you can learn to do.
