So if memes and such don't count, I fail at updating.
Started at Hastings last week. I haven't been getting a lot of hours so I don't know as much as I could. I file away the returned rentals and do a little register--the former is more fun, but that's only because I know what I'm doing. (That and processing buybacks after the manager on duty has rung them up.) If you come in, I can chat for a moment if I/we are not busy, but I'm not allowed to ring you up due to "loss prevention" policies. =(
I got a free book today, and I can get one every week. =D There are restrictions (small paperback, and they have to tear the cover off, but it's just a mass market paperback), but I might fill out my collection of classic lit that way. Yayzors. I got I Am Legend this time--when I first walked by I thought it was based on the movie, but closer inspection revealed that it was actually written by one of my favorite authors, Richard Matheson, and the movie was based on the book. Few people have heard of his books but they know of the movies made from them--I Am Legend, obviously, but also Somewhere In Time, What Dreams May Come, and Stir of Echoes.
Discount is GOOD. Mmmm discount.
Cody might be meeting my parents on Sunday, if his car gets out of the shop this week. (It's supposed to be out Friday, so...yeah, 50/50.) Lol I just checked and totally forgot to mention that he got in a fender-bender like two weeks ago, three on Thursday. His mom is insisting on filing an insurance claim even though it'd be way cheaper in the long run to just fix the damn car. =( (I saw the damage. He needs a rear-end alignment at most. Unfortunately it's not his car.)
Anyway. Cody. Meeting parents. EEP. I don't think they're going to hate him or anything (he's too much of a gentleman), but I'm worried that they're going to be like... "You're wasting your time on that?" Or that my dad is going to be all "SO WHAT ARE YOUR INTENTIONS WITH MY DAUGHTER?" (I have already informed Cody that, if the question comes up, "I want to marry your daughter so she and I can have passionate, steamy sex!" is the wrong answer, lol.) But hopefully they'll see that he makes me happy, and that that's enough.
Thursday will be five months since the first time we ever talked, and last Sunday marked six weeks together. =) Crazy, crazy stuff. Six months ago if you'd asked about my love life I would have given you a load of snark, and now I'm with the most wonderful guy ever. Seriously, it's almost like he was made to order. ^_^
Okay, can't think of anything else. Going to go watch TV. *wave*
