Okay, okay. I bought it...like...a long time ago, lol. Watched it with Mom a weekend or two ago. Watched it again by myself and took notes. ^_^ This IS spoiler-ridden because I think everyone's already seen it. But if you haven't, and you're going to, beware!

First off, I didn't realize that John Rhys-Davies (hereafter referred to as JRD) had such a big role in it--I thought he only had a cameo, so that was a pleasant surprise. Between his two LotR roles and this role, as well as his storytelling on the documentaries, I'm really starting to admire his comic genius. I'll have to track down some of his other movies. (Probably oughta start with Indiana Jones, though I'm not sure which one he's in...I've seen them all, but it was back before LotR, hard as those days are to remember. XD)

SQUEE for Tom Poston! He played Lord Palimore, the Parliament member who (eventually) votes that Mia can be queen as a single woman. "You rule!" He's one of my favorite character actors, I grew up watching him on Newhart (don't ask me why I was allowed to watch Newhart with Dad growing up and wasn't allowed to tell him I watched Full House when he was off on trips >_<) and he's had cameos on a lot of my favorite shows and some movies. (Home improvement comes to mind, I can't remember what else at the moment. May have to IMDB him later.)

"A queen is never late. Everyone else is simply early." Did anyone else (besides me and Shelly) think Julie Andrews was going to quote Gandalf?

"Nepotism belongs in the arts, not in plumbing." XD Can anyone tell me WHY I find that so particularly amusing??? I don't know why!

During the scene with JRD and Hector Elizondo (Joe) in the stables (after Mia loses her wooden leg, lol), he went a little Gimli. "Sir, you will find that the word fear is not in my vocabulary!" XD Gimli may have to say that in a bit of fanfiction someday...

Did anyone else notice that during the parade, it was the the Mertz Marching Band led by Lucy Carmichael? As in LUCY Ricardo and Ethel MERTZ? From "I Love Lucy"? XD That cracked me up to no end...

"This is a disaster in the making! Wouldn't miss a moment of it!" Another JRD quote that kinda-sorta made me think of Gimli.

Anyway. I'm with Shelly. It's uber-cool that Mia didn't get married but still had the happy ending. Go girl empowerment!
