Go to Wikipedia. Type in your birth date (but not year). List three events that happened on your birthday. List two important birthdays and one interesting death. Post this in your journal. (Addtionally, post any other items of interest.)
March 14 (1986, if anyone's curious.)
Events:
1794--Eli Whitney is granted a patent for the cotton gin.
1903--The Hay-Herran Treaty, granting the United States the right to build the Panama Canal, is ratified by the United States Senate. The Colombian Senate would later reject the treaty.
1994--Timeline of Linux development: Linux kernel version 1.0.0 is released.
Birthdays:
1879--Albert Einstein, German-born physicist, Nobel Prize laureate (d. 1955) (knew that already, actually ^_^)
1947--Billy Crystal, American actor and comedian
Death:
1883--Karl Marx, German political theorist (b. 1818) (I swear he was the only dude on the list that I'd even heard of.)
Of interest:
Japan--White Day: Japanese holiday similar to Valentine's Day (men give gifts to women). (knew that, too--on V-day over there, the women give gifts to men)
Pi Day--unofficial mathematics holiday. (heard about that, it's because pi is 3.14)
