well, that was interesting

We felt an earthquake! 4.7, with a 3.8 aftershock about fifteen minutes later.

All I felt was--well, I have two desks in a corner, in an L shape. I was sitting at one with my arm resting on the other, and suddenly the one my arm was on pitched toward me, then settled right back. Happened again a few moments later. I couldn't figure out what it was, I thought maybe the neighbors had slammed something against the wall, but that wall is against their stairwell so I was puzzled. I went to the stairs to ask Cody (who was downstairs) if he felt it, and he asked me if I felt it. I said yeah and he asked what it was and I was like... "I dunno, earthquake?"

I just went downstairs again and he was all "Well, it WAS an earthquake!"

And now it's storming, with lightning. Whee.

I know that I journaled about another earthquake a couple of years ago but I can't find the entry for the life of me. =(

Actually, Arkansas has been having cluster earthquakes for just about a month (Maybe more) now. I'm not surprised that you'd eventually feel one.

But hey-- That's pretty cool, right?

Cool so long as it doesn't do any more. =P

you live in an area with mountains; which tends to mean you're near a fault. Which means seismic activity. Arkansas gets a number of small unnoticeable earthquakes every so often. The larger ones don't occur as frequently. I imagine you're grateful for that!

Wow. Weird weather today. We had dark-thirty serious thunderstorms that changed over to snow today. Lightning in Feb. just normall does NOT happen around here, I was so confused when it woke me up! ^_^

We're used to getting mixed signals in the sky (hello, tornadoes), but shakers are a bit out of everyday experience.

Indeed!
