^_^ perfect day

Sunday, October 5th, 5:30-ish PM, Cooper Park, Mountain Home, AR.
A little bit awkward since I didn't have a clue what I was doing, but amazing, and I had plenty of practice afterwards. I think I've got the hang of it now. ^_^
I don't regret waiting anymore. Twenty-two-and-a-half years is a long freaking time, but I'm actually in love with Cody and I know that he really feels special being the One and Only that my lips have touched. =) I know it didn't go to waste, Cody's going to be around for a good, long time. Quite probably forever, barring disaster.
So we went to Cooper Park, and headed out on the walking trail. I wasn't sure exactly where we were going to go, but decided to wing it, lol. I had my headphone splitter and we both listened to my mp3 player. As we were walking I noticed there were a lot more people there than I'd been expecting and was thinking that I might have to abandon my plan, but kept walking in hopes I could find someplace a little more private. "Geeks In Love" came up on shuffle, totally unplanned, and I was like "Do you hear that?"
"Yeah, but there's no lyrics yet...Oh, yeah, I know what this is!"
"I have it on shuffle, that's just too appropriate..." ^_^
So then we came around a bit of a turn and I spotted the little wooden bridge over by one of the trails, well hidden by the trees. (I think I probably knew of its existence and forgot about it, but I was definitely happy to see it.) So I was like "hey, random wooden bridge, let's go that way..."
When we got there Cody was all gentlemanly and was like, "No, let me go first and make sure it's safe." ^_^ He's so sweet. Just about that time, "Geeks in Love" was winding down, and when it finished I went to go change the songs. My mp3 player confused me a bit (I'm used to just skipping to the next song on shuffle), so it took me a minute but I finally started up Avril Lavigne's cover of "Kiss Me." Cody knew it (which surprised me), and he's like, "Oh, okay..." and kissed me on the forehead, and then the cheek, and then I kind of looked at him for a second, and was debating--"Are you truly sure this is the right moment?" kind of thing--but logic kicked in and was like "You've been planning this for weeks, do it before the moment passes!" and so I just DID, as the lyrics were starting. Leaned in, closed my eyes, and went for it. Thanks for all the advice, those of you who gave it, but I forgot all of it in the moment, lol--though those of you who said I was going to want to throw up from nervousness were wrong!! I was actually pretty calm, all things considered.
That being said it was a bit awkward. "OMG I'm doing it! Wait, is he kissing back? Oh there's his tongue...wait, I should probably open my mouth...oh, too late, wait no it's not..." Lol. But it wasn't unpleasant, I definitely liked it, and I'm always going to remember it.
And there were more after the first. I lost count before the song was over. ^_^ Then we came back to my place and kept practicing. Hehe.
All in all, everything was perfect, and I like kissing. ^_^
In other news, Hastings called and I went in today to "start paperwork," which means I had to go to the hospital and take a drug test. Ew. -_-* But whatever, she said that the results would likely be back Thursday, and if so I can probably start training on Monday. Yay!
