Why does he look so much like Hitler in that picture?

Ha, I didn't even notice. Probably the mustache, which he didn't have later in life.

OH. OMG LOL. Writing about the downfall of an evil dictator whilst BEING one? XD

Actually, Hitler's mustache is not that big, but WW1 and WW2 could have influenced his[Tolkien] writings, think about it. In the beginning, (I'm going by the movies) there was a GREAT WAR (reference to WW1 which use to be called the Great War before WW2 broke out) where Mordor(Germany) gives rings of power to each race (Treaty of Versaille: giving away its colonial possesions)and promised a peaceful existence (Treaty of Versaille: no offensive weapons allowed in Germany). Then Sauron crafts a Ring of All Power for himself (Hitler becomes Chancellor of Germany). Sauron begins mustering an army, and He forges an alliance with Isengard and Saruman (Mussolini's Italy). During the War of the Ring (now crossing over to WW2), Isengard is the first to surrender (as did Italy), however, Mordor has gathered an army for the final battle (Battle of the Bulge) Slowly but surely the Free Peoples, defeated Sauron by dropping the Ring of All Power (nuclear bomb) into Mount Doom (Hiroshima, which a mountain is nearby), Sauron is dead (Hitler's "suicide"), and his slaves and warriors are gone, those that didn't get swallowed by the earth, through down their swords and ran away (Japan surrendered)

WW1 DID influence LotR, we know for a fact actually. The Dead Marshes bit was based on when Tolkien saw dead bodies in foxholes after torrential downpours.

Why the quotes on Hitler's suicide? Isn't that for sure?
