I really, really, really hate to admit this.

I think I may have just taken my first step towards becoming *gulp* a Sawyer fangirl.

NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

I bought a copy of Richard Adams' "Watership Down." Which, if you didn't know, is one of the books Sawyer has and helped cause him to need reading glasses. ^_^ I only kinda-sorta wanted it until I found out he also had "A Wrinkle In Time"--then I REALLY wanted it. AWiT is one of my all-time favorite books, but also, making that connection, inspires new trains of thought about island theories. So there may be some pertinent info in "Watership Down."

But now that I think of it...back when there was that whole mess with Shannon's inhalers, didn't Boone claim that he "knew" Sawyer had them because Sawyer had his BOOK and therefore must have the whole bag? (Which, of course, turned out to be wrong, the book washed up on shore alone, but whatever.) So technically "Watership Down" is BOONE'S book! WHEE! Vindicated!

Anyway. I hit two of the local used bookstores that I've been nagging thehobbitwaffle about and went on a book-buying spree. I think I have maybe ten new additions to the collection. ^_^ One of the stores I go to all the time because they get new stuff, the other is one I visit maybe twice in a year because they don't, lol.

Conquests of the day:

• Watership Down, Richard Adams. It's about bunnies. Teehee.
• Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency and The Long Dark Teatime of the Soul, Douglas Adams. You know HHG2G? Same author, different series. *I'm going to splurge again on payday and buy the rest of the series in the nice, shiny, movie editions*
• The Greatest Salesman In the World, The Christ Comission, and...oh, darn it...some other book, Og Mandino. The Greatest Miracle In the World is one of my all-time favorites, definitely the most TOUCHING book I've ever read, and it should be required reading for humanity. Same author. Yay!
• Don't Stand Too Close to a Naked Man, Tim Allen. I nort myself silly watching him, Home Improvement or in movies. Should be funny. (Been wanting it for forever!)
• Tatsinda, unknown author. Isn't this a children's classic? Whatever. It looked good.
• Choose Your Own Adventure #1, unknown author. I know it's the ultimate in geekiness, but I LOVE the style of these, where you read and then at the bottom of the page it says, "If you would this, go to page 93, if you would that, go to page 87." I would love to write something like that just for the sheer technical challenge! It'd be a good setup for a Lost fanfic, methinks. *wheels start turning*

Anyway. I have roughly 12 minutes to get to work and I still have to remove my personality. (Take off my jewelry and watch and do my hair for the hat.) Also I have to let the potential stalkers know my name. (Put on my nametag.)

Are the Artemis Fowl books really good? I haven't read any of them.

The covers may look like children's book but the content really isn't. I find them entertaining, if not very challenging to read. They are worth a read.
*Needs HP adult hardcovers and pretty hardcover version of the hobbit and ipod*
